I was commenting more on the irony that www.cascadeclimbers.com didn't have a :climbing: graemlin, then on your skillz.
-
No graemlin for :climbing: eh?

Try dusting it with corn starch, takes some of the sticky away. Another point of view - don't bother with the patch unless it is in an embarrassing spot. I've got lots of holes in my schoeller, and they don't seem to get any bigger.

Ohhh... My legs hurt, but I can't stop! Snow's too good!
-
Sorry Trask, ya gotta take Quebec with the rest of us... They aren't so bad really. Good food, and good beer, and the most sane liquor laws in the country.
-
Nothing really, except it's wet and heavy! More dry &light faceshots for me yesterday!
-
Try skiing 4-6 hrs one way with ice gear on your back when there is only 9 hours of light, and then get back to me and tell me you had fun. I think the real issue is that they are trying to exclude one user group for the benfit of another; when the skiiers and sledders could go elsewhere, the ice climbers have limited options.

I won't ask you to explain why you have 3 headlamps. But I would like to know how you possibly think the Aurora, and the Ion are better headlamps than the Tikka??? I think the Ion is great except for the fact that it uses a funny little battery. The Aurora, well, don't get me started. Oh wait, I already have... -Exposed on/off switch is going to turn on in your pack. -Way higher warranty return rate than the Tikka. (like 5 to 1 at least) -More expensive. -Stupid flashing modes. -Nice hinge to break.
-
Haven't heard of one breaking yet. They are made of spectra I think. What I don't like is the way it seems to creep down you forehead though. Not enough friction.
-
I'm jealous too. Of Whistler - they just got 42 overnight and 106 in 24!!! OMFG!!! It's probably all wet heavy crap anyway!
-
No... It's a lot whiter than that. I got faceshots for Christmas! Well, a day late...

Next 5 days of my forecast has this: and this: Yippeee!!! Have a Merry Time all ye Merry Gentlemen and Ladies too!

There is a tape that might work for you, but it's not cheap. It is used, among other things, for putting a water tight wrap over electrical connections. You wrap it on tight, and it actually bonds to itself, and becomes kinda one piece. I can't remember the name of it, but most hardware and auto part stores seem to have it. $10/roll or so! Tool dip might work too.

As usual I geek out, and Beck comes along to put it all in layman's terms. Nice job, you said it better than I could (obviously).

Just talked to a proffesional ski guide friend of mine who had a chance to try out the X-1 recently in training week. He pretty much said what Avman did on the tttips.com board. I wish I could try one of these things out for myself.

And while we're at it, How's the warranty??? When push comes to shove, sometimes the brands do come out cheaper in the long run. Me on my second jacket from the dead bird. Suddenly it don't seem so spendy!

Well, here is an answer from the Backcountry Access website. Some good reading over there! This is copied from this article :

Somewhere on the I-5 in WA: "Boring Pedestrian Overpass" Uhh hold on, that's not in BC. Sometimes it's not the official names that are the best. I like the ones people come up with on their own. dru lives in "the 'wack" I am in RossVegas Vangroovey=Vancouver Lilliwet=Lilooet (Straight outta)Squampton=Squamish Ditchmond=Richmond (you'd understand if you go there)

Do you turn them inside out in the washer?? It helps. (RTFM) Hot tip: don't lend your favourite ski socks out to someone who is going to break their tib/fib, it will get cut off by the EMT's!! Smartwool aint the only socks in my drawer. I got some of those ones trask reccomends, but find those kinda sweaty. There's some other ones too, $7 at MEC, tough as nails, not too cushy. I try to wear them out by wearing them to work, but they won't die. SW always is the one I want to wear though.

Three people sell their souls to the devil. The deal states that they will get what they are wishing for and then they will be killed. When they have had their wishes the devil comes to collect. He say to each of them, "I am going to take your lives the way you lived them. Each of you will be killed in a way that reflects the job you did" The first one says, "OK I was a climber, what are you going to do to me?" The devil has him hung with rope. The second one was a blacksmith. "Maxwell's silver hammer came down upon his head..." The third one got a big grin on his face as he said "I make lollipops..."

Not quite sure what you mean??? If your boots shells are the right size, then you will have enough toe room once the liners are fitted. Shell Sizing: With no sock or liner step into the empty shell of your existence, I mean boot. Slide you toes right forward, untill they lightly touch the front of the shell. Some people recommend you have a footbed under your foot for this part. Ideally you will have about 2 fingers worth of space behind your heel. Is this what you meant???
