OW - it wasn't a guess, that's what it is. The Canadian Government topo, 92H/11 Puts it in the CASCADE MOUNTAINS. Mountains don't give a hoot about borders.
  2. OK, my book lists: Ram Creek 36.6 degrees Buhl Creek 40.0 degrees The entry for Fairmont (the resort) also says "In addition to the commercial pools, some of the early bath houses are still usable,..."
  3. Coffee is no big deal. Easy to quit whenever. Cigs however I have heard are a little different. Awesome Muffy and allison!

  5. Dude, check your hotsprings book, I think you are mistaken there...
  6. Oops, my bad, not Canadian poll, but there it is: you gotta vote to see the results.
  7. Get the book. Or bribe me heavily and I will copy it out for you...
  8. Canadian poll names USA as country that is the greatest threat to world peace. Discuss...
  9. "BTW the queen is the real ruler there anyway " Her(canada) too. She helped pass the Greedy Stupid Tax, by allowing the PM to appoint an extra senator who would vote in favour.

    wacky popups

Weird, it got through Opera's pop-up protection, and made two pop-unders, but they were blank... this is more fun: geeky website
  13. Real stories. Minimum 3 pages of text. It would be nice to actually spend more than an hour reading the thing. Original pictures in the gallery. Check out OUTSIDE, some times they only run one pic, but it almost always rocks. Compare to Climbing or Schlock & Vice. Lots of pics, but mostly the same shot over and over. Yawn... Would gladly give up 12 issues a year for say 4 or 5 good ones. Tami Knight cartoons would be mandatory. Real how to articles. Kinda like monthly installments of "Extreme Alpinism," not just repeats of the stuff you can find in any book, but new ideas...
  14. In which case you'll love "Cook's Illustrated", a cooking mag with zero ads! I do, and that is one of the reasons.
  15. Kai is Finnish or something...
  16. But is he on cc.com?
  17. Having climbed as a "client" for a friend who was training for his ACMG cert, I have this option to offer. Lead with two 10mm ropes. Use one as your belayed rope, clip other in to protect client where neccesary. Carry 2! Gri-Gri! Easy to lower 2nd, if neccesary, and helps prevent elbow tendonitis from pulling so much rope through plaquette or such rig. I kid you not, this is how some of them do it!
  18. Muffy - What is this "good" you talk of??? Does it = "appropriate?" Trask - LOL for Real!!!
  19. Rain = Bummer We had Freshiez last night, and I am going to schralp them this afternoon I figured out that you are not married to Fred...

  21. For a 1/2 second I thought you meant Fred! I seem to be having trouble with your posts today. Note to self: read all gapert's post at least twice before even thinking about what they mean...
  22. Oh, that Pill! Of course, it all makes a lot more sense now... Just pray you can keep up to them when you are that age.
  23. I tried that on one of my first winter camping trips (shovel as stove pad). Boy was I hungry by the time the snow cave was dug!
  24. Good job, you beat Fark on this by almost 10 hours! Soon: "It's not news, it's CC.com"
  25. Might help us figure it out... We are just your master's thesis aren't we?
