first ascent [TR] Stonerabbit Pk.-FA of Southeast Face 8/1/2004
Off_White replied to Stemalot's topic in British Columbia/Canada
I haven't had any problems with the upload process, but it seems I've heard others have. I'll kick it upstairs to the folks with their hands in the guts of the site, perhaps they can figure out something more dependable or intuitive. G-Spotter, I don't know the fellow so I just can't be as up close and personal as you are. Perhaps you'd nudge him and let him know his fans want to see the pics that were in his TR? I'm sure many would appreciate it. -
If only all our chubbiness could save us!

A fine example of why your TR photos should be hosted here on CC.com, offsite photo hosting is always sketchy in the long term. In this case Stemalot hasn't posted since May 2010 and who knows if he'll get this message, correct the links, or even climbs any more? Folks, there is no limit on the number of photos you host here, and you can post them anywhere, so wise up. -
Whatever rocks your dome, don't matter to me

Now that line has the fine ping of a well driven pin!

I'm with Minx on this one. Here you go, not Skynryd, but sort of about Skynryd. [video:youtube]

[TR] Mark goes to the city with 3 girls and 2 dogs - many 6/18/2011

You're really kind in your assessment of Mystery Bolter, I thought it was a bit contrived and a real ugly duckling compared to other routes in the vicinity. Jtree is very much larger than the City and Castle Rock combined, but its not as compact as those two areas which deliver much of the same flavor at half the drive time. I'm looking forward to getting back there this fall. -
[TR] Colchuck, Dragontail, Little Anna, Enchantment - Traverse 6/6/2011

That's great, nice video, Josh is a star! I really like that photo looking back at Dragontail and Colchuck, a different angle than I've seen before. -
At least he died doing what he loved.

We've had a lot of rain in the last 12 hours and the stone is quite damp. If it turned warm and sunny from now until 4 we'd be fine, so that means there's no chance we're climbing here today.

Well that's the thing, isn't it? The primary selects for who excites the fringe the most, but that won't do so well in the general election. If the Republicans picked someone like Huntsman he might well win, but all the pundits say there's no way his liberal social politics will carry the primary. The fiscally conservative/socially liberal wing of the Republican party is really out of power, but that's the flavor most likely to sway the all important independents.

You've become quite the pragmatist in your old age. Seems like presidential elections are often about choosing the least objectionable option, regardless of your political slant.

I was just in Oregon last weekend, seems like they charge a day use fee for state parks, unless you have some sort of pass...

Well that's a killer first post, thanks.

Can we start a bidding war for the video rights?

Smith Rock Monkey Face swinger takes out climbers

Is that item on your agenda? good on ya if so. -
Gah, I just got sucked into looking at some of the rightwing blogosphere babble about this, I've eaten canned ham with higher IQ than a lot of those folks. You're not really a moderator for Koch Industries too, are you Peter?

Perhaps the new Tea Party folks in congress are just trying to protect you from Socialism? I know, its not funny, but if you get one of the cush military jobs, not the hardcore shit you volunteered for, one could put in their 20 years and retire at 38 with a pension and health insurance for life. Private industry has pretty much done away with any working class path that leads to that sort of pot of gold, its not too surprising that now they're coming for your benefits. Workers or soldiers are consumables, and if they're no longer productive, its hardly profitable to keep them around now, is it? I'm sorry to hear you got shot again and that you've got other physical issues. You chose a tough road, but your willingness to walk your talk is admirable. I hope you get the benefits you've clearly earned.

I dunno, it feels an awful lot like 52 did. Thanks for the love Petie Pie.

I'm really sorry to hear this, I figured someone here would likely know her. I've always thought the moat is a scary place, and this heavy snow year really extends that hazard.

The Sierra San Pedro Martir is a pretty cool area, but I haven't been there in a long long time, and I only looked at Diablo from the rim of the plateau. I've always thought it seemed like a great mountaineering outing, it must have been super adventurous in 56 and 60. Got any pictures from then?
