  1. It's not exactly Black Tusk, but it is in the Scrambles guide, which means it is neither remote not seldom travelled. It's been done as a day trip return from Squamish for instance. But it is a nice peak. Too bad you didn't have better views, it's a good vantage on a clear day.
  2. Get out the frying pan, let's fry up that meat pancake...
  3. http://names.whitepages.com/last/Choss Strangely, there's more Choss in California than in Washington. According to this, there's no Choss in Washington at all.
  4. Ah shit. I was just reading a trip report from some dude that hadn't climbed for 20 years who got enticed out on the rock. Fact is once a climber always a climber*. The tuft will be there for you when you come back to it years from now. *Just like heroin!
  5. How is it between peanut butter and mayo in a sammich?
  6. Well, now we all have those bad days when we can't hit for shit. The more of them magics you use, the more bad days you have without them So it comes down to finally all your days being bad without the bullets It's magics or nothing. Time to stop chippying around and kidding yourself, kid, you're hooked, heavy as lead And that's where old George found himself. Out there at the crossroads. molding the Devil's bullets. Now a man figures it's his bullets, so it'll hit what he wants to hit. But it don't always work out that way You see, some bullets is special for a single aim. A certain stag, or a certain person And no matter where you aim, that's where the bullet will end up. And in the moment of aiming, the gun turns into a dowser's wand, and point where the bullet wants to go
  7. BENFORDS LAW but try using that for your keno bets and you'll be screwed. numbers aren't large enough. also doesn't work for phone numbers unless you use the 1 for long distances first like 1-206-867-5309
  8. MARILYN VOS SAVANT SAID MONTY HAUL NOT THE DEVIL. foo
  9. I remember doing this route years ago. I started hallucinating near Lake Ann, which kept me entertained on the rest of the way out to pavement. Fortunately we were lucky enough to score a ride back to the car

  11. Same pool of buyers, different fundamentals than those you quote.
  12. How about if you compare to HK? Same pool of buyers.
  13. Meditation on inevitable death should be performed daily. Every day when one's body and mind are at peace, one should meditate upon being ripped apart by arrows, rifles, spears and swords, being carried away by surging waves, being thrown into the midst of a great fire, being struck by lightning, being shaken to death by a great earthquake, falling from thousand-foot cliffs, dying of disease or committing seppuku at the death of one's master. And every day without fail one should consider himself as dead.

  16. How many mainland Chinese are buying houses in the USA as investments though?
  17. You're winning at that game!
  18. Here's the blog post to go along with that http://runoutoffroute.wordpress.com/2012/08/02/a-birthday-spanking-the-north-rib-of-mount-slesse/ Disclaimer: Skyler didn't send this to me. Christian C. did. I include it here b/c I think it's a great writeup.
  19. I was sleeping in a cabin south of Barkerville when I was woken up by a porky chewing on the cabin. They do indeed love plywood glue. I had good luck chasing it away using my shovel.
  20. Please list what opinions you respect that differ from yours, which ones you don't, and what criteria you use to distinguish. If you do an exceptionally good job of it I may even respect your opinion.
  21. Mostly yes. If the parking lot is totally full, probably all of the wire will be in use. Personally I'd be OK with parking there without wire. I would be more worried about porkies chewing on your car at remote trailheads than at the Bugs. People wrap their cars at the Bugs because they can (wire is there) not because porcupine chewing is rampant there nowadays. There are just as many porcupines in the West Kootenays but you never see anyone wrap their car at the Gimli trailhead for instance.
  22. You don't have to cross glaciers to climb in the Pickets but it helps.
  23. Didn't the wiregate idea come from yachting biners?

  25. If you look at the pics from Skyler, there was a WA party climbing the butt at the same time they were on the north rib, so obviously someone managed to get on it. Sprint across or rope up, either way has its disadvantages. Personally I think if you hit Stuart and then the Bugs, Slesse glacier will either have slid or will seem not so big by the time you try it in late August.
