  1. Glad it worked out for you, Karl.
  2. The best shot is the sweet shot of Klenke terrain. Simply exquisite! How long did you have to wait behind the blind to snag that fleeting shot?
  3. Not to be confused with Trapper Mountain by Cascade Pass, this summit is called Trappers Peak.
  4. Klenke and Stefan saw The Gardners today (and yesterday). But it was too far away to see if there was any Animal on it.
  5. Hmmm, auction start time June 9: 1997 blue Klein Attitude Race being hawked on Ebay. Except Rock Shok front forks, not Judy. Having a Klein myself, I'm particularly miffed at this theft.
  6. You're right, Josh. I should have the non-volcanic qualifier in there. Jaee: the blue diamond marks the location of a drop off with waterfall in late-season. Now that I think of it, there is a route that way but it involves more elevation loss to get to its base in order to get past.
  7. EJohnson's gully location seems a bit dubious to me. There may be one exactly where he's got the blue diamond but I know there is one here where it says key ramp: The ramp is Class 3 with maybe one Class 4 bit. If you come upon an alcove with some old mining equipment in it (shovel, etc.) then you're on the right ramp. Ramp goes downhill to the right (east). See the Sahale Arm Approach on this page for a more detailed description.
  8. What Matt said. Although you didn't specifically say when you will be coming. As for climbability, Chiwawa and Fortress are already good-to-go. The trail will be snowfree most of the way to its end. A couple of weeks ago the road (Chiwawa River Road) was still closed due to a boulder across the road. The ranger I talked to back then estimated another couple of days to get it out of the way. The road was closed at Atkinson Flat for this. I suspect the road has been cleared all the way to Trinity now.
  9. Kaia, don't ya know: Rainier is mandatory drinkin' for all PNW climbers! Did you not get the memo? Actually, I like Rainier when all I want is a domestic beer. It always tastes great back at the car after a long day's climb.
  10. If for nothing else, I was going to show up because I'm running out of food in my fridge. An opportunity to whoop it up with potguns would make things worthwhile too. An 8PM arrival seems plausible for me.
  11. Pacific Northwest Mountain Weather That'll be a short lecture... "Class. This is the lecture for Pacific Northwest Weather. It always rains. Unless it doesn't. Any questions? No? Quiz time."
  12. Now if they'd put out a new album, that would be great. For me personally, they're one of the few bands that have improved over time. That is, I like their later albums more. So naturally I eagerly anticipate the next one. It's been over 10 years!
  13. I might be able to make it. Not sure yet. I know I won't show up in a Thomas Becket outfit, though.
  14. "I slipped only once." Must not have been much of a slip. On a TV show I saw recently he was fearing the possible caning he would get after he was arrested there. If they would have rapped his knuckles hard enough they could possibly have ended his buildering career.
  15. Borrow Uncle Glenn's POS Saturn. Stylin'
  16. the better way. Have at it.
  17. You better be there Matt cuz I'm bringing your %$@-$%$@$# rope. Jim: whence is not a fancy way of saying when. It's a fancy way of saying where or wherefore and specifically more in terms of metaphysical location. Yours was a common usage error. But you did make a rhyme with it.
  18. I'd show. Dada-da dada-da dada-da dat's all folks!
  19. I have Johnny Jean's email address. I can ask him if he did indeed climb the W. Face of Huck and if he did what his route was. You, Gary, may well have done something completely different to him if he did do it, which would mean no FA of face but FA of a particular route on the face.
  20. Can't afford it. Sorry.
  21. Unfortunately, mine's out of the box so won't be worth that much money. All of mine are out of the box but my bro has several that aren't.
  22. It would be a piece of cake and I'm surprised more people don't do it. Hell, there used to be a trail junction there for a trail going NE up State Creek to Washington Pass. This trail would have (maybe it still exists) taken yout right up to the highway, which must cut across the south slope of Whistler about 4,600 ft through there. Map.
  23. Nice try, guys. But I'll have you know I sold my Cabbage Patch and Barbie dolls last year. And also, I always sterilized my Leia figure after each use. Everyone knows that was standard procedure. It said so on the back of the black card package. Geez!
  24. Laura wants to buy my Princess Leia Star Wars figure (the original Leia figure). What should I sell it for? Hmmm....
