I'm a traditionalist. I like some popcorn with my butter. Caramel is good for the sweet tooth. Parmesan cheese is good too. Garlic sounds good, I'll have to give it a try.

ehmmic, you got that right. CA drivers are messed up as are the politics. Not my driving of course. You down here in the land of "Water, Wealth, Contentment, Health"?

The only thing I've found is http://www.whitneyportalstore.com/ it is mostly for the southern Sierra / Whitney area. Also doesn't have the spray of CC.com.

Yeah, and I hear there's a game played in a pool called water polo, how do they keep the horses from drowning?

Nevada's High point, Boundary Peak, is a miserable scree slog. I think the only reason anyone would head up there is the fact it is the high point. That's the reason I went. -
Earlier this summer some of you were crowing about the M's and when I commented on the A's. I was told to off. Well I told you so. A's 5 games up with 9 to play. The M's may not even make the playoffs. Have a good day!

"Aside from Ayad Rahim's genetic heritage, what makes him any more credible as an observer than any other citizen of Cleveland (or Phoenix if you'd prefer)? . . . what information does he have? " Granted it is anecdotal, but he mentions contact he has had with relatives in Iraq. First hand is better, but that is more than other citizens of Cleveland would have. Those few folks paint a better picture than most of the gloom and doom in the media. My guess is what is actually happening is somewhere in the middle.

The here I was talking about was Central CA. There are seasonal fluctuations since we are an agricultural based economy. But basically unemployment has been fairly constant, too high. Is the recent spike related to the dot com failures?

And Cleveland in located next to Lake Erie. So what What does the fact that the column was written in Cleveland have to do with anything? Would it have more meaning from say, Phoenix? Inquiring minds want to know.

His term was 8 years. Why not prosperity for the entire time? The economy was turning south on Clintons watch and was in good shape when he took over. No war? Somalia? The Balkans? Lob a few cruise misssles at the caves in Afghanistan once in a while to embolden Osama? Unemployment here has pretty much been the same for the last 15 years. As far as CA, the economy has gone into the tank, not to mention the energy debacle, under the watch of Gray Davis.

A sad day. Love to listen to Johnny Cash when drivin' to the hills. Here's to ya. FWIW, Boy Named Sue was written by Shel Silverstien.

I was online with cc.com and the news on the TV. Stopped reading and watched it all unfold including the seeing the second plane hit live. I felt sick to my stomach. I had to leave for work as the buildings were burning. Got to school and turned on the TV in my room in time to see a tower fall. Nothing much happened in class that day. Pretty somber.

WOW! Some really cool stuff. Mine are weak in comparison but here goes. Summit Mount Rainier Summit Mount Shasta (2nd time) Summit White Mountain Peak. 3 14ers. Got to 12,000 heading for another (Mt. Langley the day after White) but ran out of time and had to head back.

so why do those fuck heads from cali only know how to do 50 mph on I-5 when they get up here??? Last time I was up Seattle way, specifically between Centralia and Bellevue, the speed on I-5 never got over 45, both when I drove north and then again south. Drove me nuts. Most California drivers are clueless too! And Gov. Grayout Doofus just signed a bill to allow illegal aliens to get a CA drivers license.
