  3. I've found the opposite to be true, especially on BBQ da Pope!
  4. I found it difficult to ride when my legs were tired but the snow will be quite a bit different this time of year.
  5. You talkin bout the hosts who resold our camp site while we were out climbing because we only left a camp chair?
  6. Hey, not only is it a TR, its in the running for the June prize. Hmm, though come to think of it, that makes me guilty of the cardinal sin of spraying in a TR... Wasn't there something about needing a picture to qualify?
  7. The way these two relate to each other is amazing, I wonder if our young hero will pursue graverobbing as a career!
  8. AAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!
  9. Lots of wildlife there. Hot and dry. Some dogs would be fine, many not so good. All the routes I've done on the checklist tee shirt were good.

    Big Wall

Any wall => the grand wall
  11. Mountie bashing just ain't whut it used to be
  12. East coast of the Willamette river, originally from Orygun
  13. Thats what it was rated the first time I led it.
  14. There was still a couple feet of snow at the lower th. I walked past it on the way down for a couple hundred yards before cutting back over to the trail that goes down to Big Creek campground. At the cutover point there was no snow at all. A guy I talked to on the summit said the sno stopped him at the last crossing of Big creek about a mile or so before the lower th. He didn't say how deep the snow was there but I would guess it could very easily be drivable to close to the lower th by the weekend.
  15. It sucked once out from under the trees. Crust failing at 100 - 150 #. Soon after you lift your foot 4 outta 5 steps punch thru about a foot. Fine if you had snowshoes. That was on a se aspect late morning.
  16. Just guess the mountain (hood), The brand (BD), the model (raven pro) and condition (new) and you may get lucky.
  17. There's a couple small washes to get thru and the last 1/4 mile is bone jarring. I'm pretty sure the insurance ends when you leave the pavement. We lost a wheel cover one year but they didn't ding us for it. And if they try to get you to upgrade 3 times they're outta your class of car and you'll get the upgrade for free!
  18. Got a late start yesterday so went up Ellinor instead of reconning the bros. No sno at 2500' and 2 feet plus at 3000' there. Heres a pic off that direction, pretty sure the bros are behind Mt Wa.
  19. Way to make the most of our weather window. I'm pretty sure we started up Remorse to get to Psychopath, but you guys came in from a bit further right? Iconoclast is a great way to start the season. Thats great that the ticks luv you, people want to go up there with someone whom the nasty little buggers prefer.
  20. Isn't that wall just around the corner from this?
  21. We didn't drive up there but on our way to the cave we saw some snow under the trees a couple weeks ago where the road up takes off from the hiway. I'd guess there may be a few corners that may still be trouble but its only a guess. I think Andy told me once he walked up from below the first time he went there so ya got options.
  22. Was at the cave most of one day, then moon rocks and went to rc the next day. I've seen more snakes at the cave than anywhere else around there. Did get to see this guy tho...
  23. Straight up the hill from stones throw, you'll eventually start to see large bits of quartz in the mix. Follow these up past scrubbed lines on either side of the gully to the source. It was very windy the day we hiked up there and the creek was frozen.
  24. Brought one home from the royal columns a couple weeks ago. They're the big ones there - easy to spot if you look. Didn't get to see any snakes
