  1. The first time I saw Hans he was in Tuolomne kickin ass on 10 domes in a day. I saw the leader took a whipper on the pitch of the last climb (we were on their intended route and moving like slugs!) so they did the 10.c fingers. I dont think tibloc's existed then and the fall was arrested fine. Other than that I dont know shit. I bet Hand has stuff on his site but it doe not always pertain to gumbies like me and that is all I give beta for!
  2. You spend too much time actually climbing so soon is not a realistic goal
  3. Just keep talking to yourself and you might get there some day Otherwise SFU and talk that loser Highlander into climbing Lib Crack with you
  4. Make sure you climb cracks and take a run at Sinemilla
  5. Hehe probably not wet now but was a month ago. I am sure you can find one though!
  6. Grassy/mossy/rock/oozing water climbing skills are an all around skill for alpinists. Although the descent was wet it is doable and quick. Got me to the bar fast!
  7. Wynona's Big Brown Beaver!
  8. All right you old timers somebody might know how much bush fighting and swamp swimming is there.
  9. I was just talking smack actually. But when lived in CO the t-storms would come in on the front range every afternoon like clockwork. Displaying dazzling lightning and deafening thunder followed by torrential but short rain spells. I think Lamebone was talking about Canyucker rockies but it's all about the fun.
  10. Ooh rockies and afternoon thunderstorms SPICY!

  16. I carry a belay device. It works fine for me. Guess everyone has their own tricks.
  17. I wanna see proof of the clown shoe
  18. Juan the double rope rappells are not needed. The only thing I disagree on. Floppy shoe = funny.
  19. Whatever I never need the things. Must be overrated for gumbies like me.
  20. Besides me?
  21. It gets you to the bar faster you just have to pratice it a bit.
  22. Oh Poseur is back eh C'mon how was your trip
  23. Nice shot rob I got one similar. The ER descent is good. It is 5 single rope (one 50m rope only needed) rappels to the ledges and yes lower is better (easier). Identify the gully as bob says. [ 07-31-2002, 08:45 AM: Message edited by: Cpt.Caveman ]
  24. Catch what Isn't a real belay better and back to my original comment - if you need tiblocs then you dont need to simulclimb.

But if you have a few, they can be used. I would never buy or use a tibloc for simul climbing. What good are they gonna do? Besides you can always use prusik slings and they don't destroy the rope.
