Cpt.Caveman replied to Dr_Flash_Amazing's topic in Climber's Board
Zoom is too hard for me to do without falling but it's good. Wham would be good if I could get both feet off the deck and into that thing Too much beer gut- -

This time of year weather is already turning into winterlike there up high. ON your way over you might as well climb Mount Sir Donald, Uto or Tupper just before Golden at Roger's Pass (Selkirk's South by David P Jones) Considering the weather it might be smart to get the Bow Valley Rock book for when you are not too committed to head out in the bad weather you can crag. Near Lake Louise Mt Victoria is pretty easy. Ha Ling Peak (NE Face) Eisenhower Tower (Right side) Get the Dougherty book it's got a bit. Some other things too - MT Louis, MT Birdwood, Andromeda Skyladder.... Mt Rundle is an easy one ... It's endless once you drive in there and see for yourself. 25 th if you can call me early enough tonight and want to climb a route on Shuksan tomorrow and then go home cool. Fisher Chimney's or Sulfide Glacier appeal to me. 425 501 6255

I have self arrested falls and I have unroped on many glaciers. Conditions usually permit when and how much of it I do. If it is later in the summer I am more likely to go solo. I climbed over a mile up a glacier last week unroped and across crevasses.... Just give them a wide berth and be smart about when you decide to do it. The North Ridge of Stuart is sporty. -
I suppose you can hommake just about anything. Some people dont care to take the time to alter equipment. My time is more valuable to me than that. I would rather be getting laid drinking beer or climbing than sewing shit on to a pack or whatever. I like to buy the right piece of equipment for the job the first time.. Although it does not always end up that way. If I buy a pack I dont want to sew shit on. That's what the packmakers are supposed to do in my eyes. But if you are short on cash and long on time or are a tightwad I got no beef.... I think if you spend all your time modifying then you might not have the right stuff in the first place. New route on Rusty Peak (Coast Range)
Cpt.Caveman replied to Cpt.Caveman's topic in British Columbia/Canada
all you smack talker can say what you want. I had a great time and will go back with a helo whenever I want because I can. I deleted my photos off of bivy.com go see for yourselves. if it's too easy then pick a line you like. it's pretty easy to criticize behind your computer desk. I dont care to share with idiots and will only email photos to my friends now. the coast range is 4.5 times larger than the cascades. go find your own walk in or route if ours was too easy. Let me tell you that it was work to climb the peak and you have to be on your toes as not to be the person to kill fred. say what you want I know what is there for me when I return. I also did not have a bad time. I never said the route was difficult or classic as originially stated. -

I was just speaking with 2 locals both who have climbed it. ONe skied it via NF he is crazy but the other dude aint quite so nuts and I climbed a peak with him recently, he has lots of exp. like Devil's Thumb and Howser Peak (not Bugs). He spent the night in a crevasse beneath the summit due to a storm in September... The Rangers there are actually more knowledgable about conditions than one would think. Not trying to be a mommy but check there first.
