i didn't mean to question the strength of the dynafits. if they made boots my size i definitely would have considered them myself. i was referring more to what gslater said - that "the little two-pin rear heelpiece mechanism just seems kind of sketchy to me".

there was a slide in that area while i was there this summer. i've heard that there are people who climb over there anyway, but i've never talked to anyone who has. you know, i can think of few nicer climbs to daydream about in the valley if you need some suggestions.

i have a probe myself, but i think not carrying a probe is not unusual. learning to pinpoint precisely with your transceiver may be much more important in the long run. in rescue scenarios where the victims had beacons it seems i rarely saw probes being used.

these tend to fit a little big for their size, don't they?
