  1. I carry a can of lighter fluid in my pocket, when I get cold I squirt a small amount onto my coat and light a match to it. Viola, happy warmies....
  2. I was in a band for several years struggling to make a living at it. I used to think that "Sold Out" was a bad thing, but I think that being "sold out" means being successful in the mainstream. I would have sold out in a minute if I could make my living doing the things that I love. I'm not real fond of Jon as a person, but I have to respect him for being successful.. Sean
  3. Happy B-Day Mike. sorry about the weather, hope you get some climbing in this weekend!
  4. Mariners are gonna kick some Yankee ass!!!
  5. The toilet overlooking Schrieber meadows on the approach to the RailRoad Grade. Great view. No privacy, but better that having the squirts on a four person rope....;-) sean
  6. Mike has informed me that he is not quite hooked up at his new abode to send or recieve the internet. There will be no one needed to demo ice tools....I repeat, no one needed to demo ice tools.
  7. I think that the greasier the food the better. All of that grease keeps the muscles slippery, and in proper working order. And thanks to Cavey, I've been smoking a few more cigs as I am pouring many beers down my throat. sean
  8. I'm gonna be up in the Wintrop area this weekend and would like to hook up with some bitchin' climbin' on Sunday in the N. Cascades, if anyone is around. sean

    Helmets

I gotta say that barring the attraction of the opposite sex, there really is no reason not to wear a helmet. No matter how skilled or prepared you might be for a fall, there are factors that can/will come up that are beyond anyones control that could result in an uncontrolled situation where a severe head injury could occur, and a helmet would lessen the severity of any trauma that could occur. sean

  12. If my boss doen't read this before then I'll pitch in. (athough I think I'm going to be to ill to go to work...:-) sean
  13. Campfires were definately allowed. If it weren't for the quick actions of Drew (sp?) I would have been cooked medium rare, as it was I only burnt up the left side of me. As to the raging alcoholism, I can attest to the amount of Rainier that was consumed and that I hung with the Caveman most of Saturday night. I'm seriously looking forward to the next one!! yee haa. sean
  14. Snafflehound, oro Teddy R.
  15. whoa dru, did you type all that? hahaha
  16. Retro, sorry for the attack, I'm sure you didn't do it. Hope to see ya at the ropeup. Besides you are pobably way bigger than me and would kick my butt. hahaha sean
  17. If anyone needs a ride on friday around 10 amish, from seattle, Beck and I have some room for a couple of peeps in my mountaineers mobile.... pm me if interested sean

Anyone needing rides also....I'm leaving Friday 9 AM-ish. And if any one knows where to get a butt load of webbing cheap, I think that it would come in use since many bolts have been chopped. Also, if anyone would be willing to help set up the "area" that would be cool too. later, sean
  19. No shit.... Retro-sore-ass, this your doing?
  20. MSR mini-waterworks. replacable ceramic filter, I've used mine for 3 years, cleaned it after each trip, never had any problems. love-it
  21. was up in L-worth myself this weekend, chopped anchors(see other thread), but great weather, was at 8-mile, drank some kokonees, flashed some small (and I mean small) boulder problems. later. sean
  22. Yeah, I saw it too. Went up to clamshell cave, Barney's Rubble and Roto-Wall, TR hangers missing, the large boulder at clamshell was also missing hangers. I also saw that there were at least four more chopped leaving large holes on top of 8-mile also. Some of the bolts ate still usable it looks like, but this lis kinda lame, chopping bolts on routes that have been TR practice grounds for over 30 years... That sucks. sean

The Beckster and Myself would like to get a head count of how many people are going to the RopeUp. If you could just post here or send Beck or I a private message, we will know how much Krusteaz to get for the pancakes and stuff... thanks, sean
  25. I think that this is a great thread. My son is 6 years old. I only get to be with him every other weekend, so I try to take him out to some crags around Spokane, and heve been taking him for the last three or so years. Jonah is dissappointed when we don't go climbing, I think the key for us was that we would just go and have fun.
