  1. Thanks Matt. Going up there tomorrow.
  2. Nice Matt! I was up at 3:00 Rock with the masses.:-) Where did you add bolts to Jacob;s Ladder? Thinkin' about getting on that one again in the next week or two. Cheers. Jimbo
  3. I've got two Metolius Power Cams for sale. #'s 6 and 7. I have only used them once, no falls. Time for them to go to someone that will actually use them. $25 each. I forgot to mention, located in Snohomish. Can meet somewhere, or you can pick 'em up on the way to Index or something. Cheers. Jimbo

    Goodbye

If it's actually true then it is the GREATEST day in cc.com's long & vaunted history. Amen!
  7. Anyone fer Index in the next couple of days. Possible rain tomorrow, sun Friday. Would like to check out all of the newly cleaned action at Lookout Pt/Pvt. Idaho, or whatever. PM Cheers. Jimbo
  8. I realize it's been a couple of weeks, but I think I answered your Kautz question here: http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/887054/Kautz_conditions_6_7_09#Post887054 My brother-in-law is a climbing ranger up there, so tomorrow evening I could probably have even more current beta for ya. When we were up there the FF looked good, and was getting skied pretty much every day. As I said in my linked post, the Fan approach to the Kautz is highly not recommended. Unless of course you like playing dodge ball with Rainier choss. Cheers. Jimbo
  9. But, last I checked, you do need a NW Forest Pass for Blue Lake parking. You can get that at the ranger station in Sedro Wooley, and probably Marblemount as well. Cheers. Jimbo
  10. Yep. Wilson Beach is below Turtle. No rap. Hand lines in place for the scramble. Nice to have a prussik on there as the corner is awkward with a pack on. Pretty simple. Cheers. Jimbo
  11. Climbed the Kautz over the weekend. Route is in excellent condition. Approx. 120 meters of 65 degree ice at 12K. Approach is pretty chill. DO NOT use the Fan approach. Scary amount of rockfall coming down that bitch. Nisqually and Wilson glaciers are still in great shape. We bivied pretty low at 9400', Wilson Beach. Running water here, but I would boil/filter. Please camp on snow, and use dry land for lounging/bouldering only. Cheers. Jimbo
  12. You interested in Darrington? Been wanting to get out there. I am very familiar with the area, lead .10's, and have rack/rope. With 4WD we could do Dreamer, or just crag at 3 o'clock rock. PM is best way to get in touch. Cheers. Jimbo
  13. I haven't had any direct run-ins with the Mounties craggin', but I don't really crag where they do I don't think. I have witnessed some super scary practices in the alpine, and usually run the other way so as not to have to rescue one of their asses. On a funny note, we headed into the slackcountry at Stevens this winter, and came across approx. 125 BoeAlps practicing their various mountaineering skills in Highland Bowl on a considerable avalanche conditions day. All we could really do was shake our heads and boot on by. (We were riding the other side of the ridge.) This thread was kinda humorous, and somewhat interesting until Kev"ass-fu*k"bone showed up. Why must so many threads feel the taint? Cheers. Jimbo
  14. Considering the word ACCESS is in your post title, maybe you should check the ACCESS FORUM.
  15. Well...I just finished the book, and I'm just not sure of what to make of it. Because I know most of the folks in the book except for the author, it's hard to put all of her negative experiences into perspective. It is just not what I've seen first hand on the mountain. She truly must have been an outsider. The book is an entertaining read, but, jeez, 188 pages of negativity and self pity is a bit much. Cheers. Jimbo
  16. Nice! Great route for your first trip up the Captain. It was cool following yer progress on ElCapReport. Cheers. Jimbo
  17. Dang! Would have loved to join you and help out, but now am committed to a landscaping project. Thanks for the effort. Cheers. Jimbo
  18. Bump. Anybody?
  19. Anyone up for some slabbin' Sat. or Sun.? Also, if you have a chainsaw, I would love to put some effort in to road clearing. PM if interested. Cheers. Jimbo
  20. Nice! Kinda figured this might be your "interesting line." Glad it worked out. Cheers. Jimbo
  21. http://cascadeclimbers.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/882287/gonew/1/Any_updates_on_Baker_Adams_roa#UNREAD There's like two or three more thread on the same thing in various places on this board. Look around.
  22. Thanks for the update. I've got some free time this week, but no chainsaw. If anyone has a saw, and wants to meet up on Wed/Thurs/Fri to clear some trees, I'm game. PM me. Cheers. Jimbo
  23. Went up there today. Snow for the last 1/8 mi. or so. Trail so beat in it's easy peasy. We all went up in tennis shoes. Biggest hazard was other people looking like they were going to throw themselves off the hill!?! Lake is 99% snow/ice covered. Cheers. Jimbo
  24. Checked it out week and a half ago and only got 4 miles from Fish Lake. That's 22 miles of closed road to Trinity! I'm sure it's better than that now, but Chiwawa typically has a late opening for the full road. Cheers. Jimbo
