Matt: Here is a few TR's on the climb from the Barclay lake Trail Head. Becky's description is pretty good too. http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=000028 I'd bet you a beer there is still water up to the high camp where me and bobinc are both suggesting you bivi.
-
I went up to the notch this spring in about 3 hours traveling solo and pretty light. 3rd - 4th class to the summit from the notch. Brush may be encountered up to and along the ridge. There is a good bivi spot below the gully leading to the notch where water a plenty should be. It's pretty typical steep forest terrain for the skykomish valley. I shoulda known better than to look at sumthin with a disclaimer. I particularily enjoyed the slo-mo editing work.

Methinks the sparks created by the flint on the cheap lighters are sufficient by themselves to ingnite white gas fumes.

2 sales, 2 purchases, no problems.

It's fun and realistic target practice for shooting at ducks and geese. PS - nobody really "hunts" pidgeons, you just shoot them when they fly by your barn, apartment, etc. Ahhh now I get it.

You might want to check in with reality once in a while

Unusual August weather forecasted for Sunday, looks like it could be fun if you're prepared. Don't be a moran! (I intentionally misspelled MORON to poke fun at another thread from last week so leave me alone!) [ 08-02-2002, 10:41 AM: Message edited by: Bronco ]

I think dogs at the crags are good training for alpine climbing, gives you the element of the unexpected, listening to whiny partners, and you can eat them if you get hungry. It's the owner's fault, throw rocks at them.

How do we know you are not the "fake" Lambone and the real Lambone is still up on Glacier Peak? This whole thing may be a left wing conspiracy to cause further damage to the economy (I'm not getting any work done) and create more dependence on the welfare system. HMMMMMMMMM

I like to take my phone to check my stocks, chat with friends about the M's, call the wife to tell her how beutiful she is and I won't be home for another day or 2 but, don't need a rescue. Very handy, I've made that call once myself. It happens. Lambone's conditions sound epic to me, 3" of ice and only light raingear is a suckfest for sure. Glad I was at home in bed those three nights. Lambone: you know it's the mountain gods punishing you for all of those bolting and sport climbing trolls, right?
-
Since Lambone is being such a good sport about this, I have a gaper question. Did you attempt to build a wind break (snow blocks, rocks, empty beer cans). I've rode out a couple of good (although shorter) storms snuggled in my Walrus behind a good snow wall. PS: I get real conservative when climbing with my wife and make decisions I wouldn't make with my regular climbing partners. I think you did the smart thing.

good post geezer! I'd rather read that than the oil drilling thread, what the hell does that have to do with climbing anyway? (it doesen't but because it's a greenpeace/sierra club topic, the whiners here feel it's appropriate somehow) By the way, I forwarded this to my wife, thanks.

here is the link at www.bdel.com BD Ice Pack If any of you gear sluts need a recomendation, I have one and it has treated me pretty well, you can put coors or coors light cans in the tool tubes and the pack has held up to all kinds of abuse pretty well. One thing they don't mention is that the waist belt removes and combines with the top lid to make a nifty fanny pack if you're into that kinda thing. In fact, you can attach the top lid to the back of any harness if you wanted to carry a jacket or some water or beer or something.

That's a typical chevy driver. Do ya think the bar on his saw is compensating for anything? What the hell is he doing to that poor little log between his legs?

What did you climb over the weekend or recently? I wanna know! Depsite being foiled by heel blisters the size of silver dollars, my wife and I had a great time on Sahale via the arm even though we didn't summit and turned around at high camp. She's a trooper, the trail from cascade pass to the parking lot is misery, if you go take some tennies or sandals for the first 3.5 miles instead of wearing your mtneering boots (her's were almost new, ouch). anyway, who else got out there this weekend?
