ivan Posted December 9, 2002 Posted December 9, 2002 so why is it that the seattle folk seem to on a more regular basis than us? perhaps we can rectify the situation? anyone feel like going to work friday w/ the mother of all hangovers? heard i left just as things were getting interesting last time... Quote
sketchfest Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Well see, here's the deal with all that, the reason Seattle is able to pull together for random drinking so much is cuz that's all the do, nobody up there actually climbs, whether it be indoors or out. They're all just a bunch of drunks, so it's easy for them. Anyway, where did you have in mind? Quote
Crackman Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Can you plan random drinking? Would like to make the next PDX pub thing. I'm meeting up with some climbing buddies Wed night at the Lucky Lab to send one of them off in fine fashion back to MN. Not sure if I can get away with two nights in a row of If you meet this Thur, I'll try to make it - would like to meet some of the local cc. Next week would definitely work better though. Quote
sketchfest Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 It's pretty hard to stumble home from Salem. It's not so much random as it is "planned spontaneity" (ask any parent what that's all about) I agree, this week is a little tough, what with all the x-mass parties and all. Some place with hard drinks would be good. Quote
sk Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 *snif* does this mean I am uninvited? I don't think I can go thursday any way... I have to practice my leading Quote
sketchfest Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Nobody is ever uninvited, maybe just a little inconvenient to get there. Besides wont it be a little wet to be leading anything on Thursday, except your way to the nearest bar stool? Quote
sk Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 NOPE I am working my gym leading so I can work on my sport leading so that maybe just maybe I am not totaly gripped next time I try to lead some relativly unclimbed by me 5.6 trad climb. (sigh) then I will it realy is too bad eugene is so far from portland Quote
sketchfest Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 So what does the rest of the Portland crew think? Where to drink? anyone..anyone..Bueller, Bueller! Quote
Winter Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 I'm in and vote for next Tue or Wed. If you twist my arm, I may get drunk on Fri. I can't make Thurs., because I've already agreed to get drunk with someone else. Quote
allthumbs Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Boy that sounds like fun. "Hey dude, I'm gonna go get drunk...yuk yuk yuk" Nuttin like a good old hangover to start the day. Quote
sketchfest Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Next wednesday 12-18-02 - 7:00ish, but where? Eastbank? The R&R? Sassies? Quote
Winter Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Sassy's. A friend of mine picked up Ms. Nude Oregon at Sassy's. That place is classic. Quote
kevinoregon Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 I am up for a little drinking anywhere you all decide. I can't wait to watch the decision process. It will be the longest thread in history. Quote
JoshK Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Let me know if you guys decide on the place with miss nude oregons, and I'll drive down from Seattle to join. Quote
sketchfest Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Well if it's going that direction, there's always the Dolphin on Starz is just down the road on the west side. Quote
ivan Posted December 10, 2002 Author Posted December 10, 2002 there's naked people in oregon???!!! what the hell have i been doing climbing all this damn time? there's only one thing i really need to clamber up onto... i didn't propose a location at first cuz i have no damn idea what's around here...the only time i go into the city is when its raining and i can't climb...and when its raining and i can't climb i'm so grumpy i can't fucking think. guess i picked a good place to move to so next week it is? might have to find a gym to go climb at this weekend, speaking of rain...anyplace good to go/anyone doing any gym climbing this week? josh...why not bring the miss naked washington folk and get on down here? Quote
JoshK Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 Alas...I'm still in search of the miss naked washingtons. Quote
iain Posted December 10, 2002 Posted December 10, 2002 check the local hot springs, if you dare. Take some hedge clippers. Quote
wdietsch Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 check the local hot springs, if you dare. Take some hedge clippers. LMAO ain't that the fuckin' truth Quote
texplorer Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 I heard Portland has the highest number of strip clubs per capita of any city in the US. Oregon is one of the few states that allow alcohol to be served where ther are totally nude dancers. Quote
rbw1966 Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 A friend of mine picked up Ms. Nude Oregon at Sassy's. That place is classic. Chris, withheld information like this will incur significant costs in penalty slack. I can probably make next Wed and even bring party favors but I guarantee we won't be as bold at Sassy's. R&R was just fine for conversation and revelry. Kennedy School might also be a good alternative. If its in Salem I won't be going. Stealth navigation in Portland is difficult enough but doing the I5 traverse is far above my leading skills. Quote
sketchfest Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 OK, so we've got a day and probably a time - 7:00ish, but where? I agree that the traverse from Salem is a wee bit sketchy, particulary dicey around Aurora. The Kennedy is good, but getting a little far for us westsiders. R&R was great, but they might be wise to us now that we've soiled the premises. Anybidy got any ideas for a new place? Quote
sk Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 no one wants to meet me in salem any way so no worries. although I think I can drive to the kendy school and I have a place to sleep that I can walk to from there if you alll ever want to do a pdx pub club on a friday Quote
Winter Posted December 11, 2002 Posted December 11, 2002 Yeah that's a classic story, but penalty slack?! I vote for the Horse Brass. Big tables ... lots of booze. But you'll come home smelling like an ash tray. Quote
