billcoe Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 You 3 guys should move to spray and keep the negativity there on off of this thread. It's bullshit to pee in a guys cornflakes like that in public. He posted some climbing photos and you come in with short one liners denigrating the lad. My thoughts. Quote
Cobra_Commander Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 I'm fine with the photos as long as he provides a link to his training blog. This still life is sick by the way: Quote
Sol Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 not nearly as cool as you guys's recent stokeage. oh wait.... Thanks for the stoke Colin! Quote
DPS Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Got a man of the people Says keep stoke alive I've got time to burn and waterfalls to climb keep on climbing in the free world Quote
ScaredSilly Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Yeah, I am ready for some ice and snow. Where abouts were these shot? Some feed back on the shots. Composition on the first is good but what I can not figure out is why one would dull up their tools and poons trying to climb rock when there is perfectly good ice 20 feet away. Second, nice pillar but no contrast between the climber and the rock. Third and forth are nice enough but a little dull. The fifth is good composition but the sky is washed out as is the back ground might have been shooting into the sun. In these cases try shooting with a flash especially as it would appear the shot was take from close by. That will let you drop down the amount of light coming in so the background is not washed out while still giving you foreground light for the subject. Using a flash is a great tool and not just for low light. Quote
Pete_H Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 But the real question is, who took these shots? Quote
wetslide Posted November 22, 2011 Author Posted November 22, 2011 The first two shots were take in Lilloet BC last season. The last three were taken at the Big Four Ice Caves. Quote
KirkW Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Too much stoke... Sweet photo. How'd you get that grapefruit inside your ankle? Quote
telemarker Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 (edited) Talking about stoke, check out this cover spread on the latest issue of Skiing mag. Though not a huge fan, they do seem to be moving away from the fu fu resort scene. This shot is certainly compelling! Edited November 24, 2011 by telemarker Quote
