allison Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 Nice photo! You two look great, and pret-ty durn happy. A flask of Basil Hayden was passed in this couple's honor at a lake somewhere up high in the hills this past Saturday. To M and D: Quote
Dwayner Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 ATTENTION ALL GIRLS! Did you see that picture of handsome Matt and his lovely bride? He's hitched now, so back off. It was embarassing how all of his friends protected him from the unending throng of babes seeking his autograph, photo and more importantly, his attention. Why do I care? Because I was constantly being approached by gorgeous women who somehow thought they could get to Matt through me, even though we're just Pube Club buddies and I climbed with him once. Even so, I feel like I'm regularly being used by these gold-diggers. Congratulations, Matt! Now maybe them girlies will leave us BOTH alone! your pal, Dwayner Quote
offwidthclimber Posted September 23, 2002 Posted September 23, 2002 cheers, mattp and all the rest! Quote

pope Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 Here's a great jazz standard to help bring these events and emotions into focus: "September Song" Writer(s): Anderson/Weill Oh, it's a long, long while from May to December But the days grow short when you reach September When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame One hasn't got time for the waiting game Oh, the days dwindle down to a precious few September, November And these few precious days I'll spend with you These precious days I'll spend with you Congrats MattP, Lambone, et al. ChrisT Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 I actually have a version of "September Song" performed by Lou Reed of all people. It's a compilation Kurt Weill CD called "Lost in the Stars". One of the very first CDs I ever bought waaaaaaaaay back in the 80's. Quote
pope Posted September 29, 2002 Posted September 29, 2002 "Big Lou" Reed on September Song...that sounds like it's worth checking out! It can't be any worse than Sid Vicious doing "I Did It My Way". I've got a Johnny Hartman CD with a tremendous interpretation of "September Song"...I'd highly recommend it but I can't think of the name of the CD just now and I'm at work. Quote
