snoboy Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 OK, 99% certain of the May 1 weekend... Friday to Sunday as usual. It's going to be soon... start planning! We need a rough head count, so post up here if you think you will show. :freshiez: And like usual, if you want to climb or snowboard or hike or bike or just smell the flowers, you will still be welcome. It's primarily a ski event, but everyone's welcome! Quote
mountainmandoug Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Hope I can make it. I might even bring skis this year. Quote
Joe_Poulton Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 Anyone going to be there Thurs/Fri....that's my weekend. Quote

snoboy Posted April 16, 2010 Author Posted April 16, 2010 That Willow creek route was awesome, we should so make that happen again if the conditions are good. Quote
jshamster Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I'll be there to represent the splitboarders again. jimbo Quote
mattp Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I hope to attend as well, though as has been my habit the last couple of years, I may be cragging. Picture from 2009 SKI-in. Quote
ilookeddown Posted April 26, 2010 Posted April 26, 2010 I plan to be there. It is always a fun time. Quote
David_Parker Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 SPRING SKI FEST APRIL 30 to MAY 2nd! I'm pretty sure this is the 9th annual Washington Pass Ski fest and the camping location can't be beat! It's always a great party and bar-b-que. I do need to get a rough idea of how many people plan to attend this year. Drop ins are always welcome however. Please post asap if you or someone you know is planning on coming this weekend! If you need directions, you will need to ask and provide your email or contact info so I can get back to you. We hope you can talk a few friends into joining us. Plenty of camping spots and a nice cabin with big deck and party area. Quote
jshamster Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Weather looks like sun & powder on Saturday! http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?site=otx&smap=1&textField1=48.53&textField2=-120.65 Quote

AlpineK Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 I've talked up Ski-In with folks that are part of Cascade Backcountry Ski Patrol. I think there will be 5 other folks coming to the event. Quote
ilookeddown Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 If anyone is showing up on Friday around 11am and wants to climb Prime Rib send me a pm and we can meet up. I have never climbed it, but it looks fun. Dave Quote
fredrogers Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 It is super fun. Can be windy up high and bring some long runners for the traverse pitches. and approach shoes for the scramble between P8-9 and the descent. 13-ish raps with a 60M will get you down just fine. have fun! Quote
Doug_Hutchinson Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 92% sure I will be there with one partner. I was there last year (for about two beers until headed to my cabin with my girl). Can someone email me the directions (again) at hutchinson.dj@gmail.com? I skied above Easy Pass and the Birthday Tour last weekend (with the horrendously stupid side ski of the SW Couloir on SEWS - now that sucked as a ski). Is it just me, or is there tons of avy debris mucking up most good lines in some way this year? The snow conditions were awesome but lower coverage is so-so and debris was dominant, but the coverage near WA Pass is good. Second observation = the alpine ice up there died before the hwy opened this year. Looks like no ice routes will be dispatched. Prime Rib is fun but very rambly and kicked back - the approach shoe suggestion is good beta. Quote
AlpineK Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Dave Parker and I are heading over to Mazama after noon today. If you need directions send me a PM, and I'll try to respond. If you have firewood bring a few pieces. Edited April 30, 2010 by Feck Quote
ewhack Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Do folks usually have some energy left to ski Sunday, or are you all partied out? I'll come over Sat night with firewood if anyone wants to ski Sunday. Edited April 30, 2010 by ewhack Quote
JoshK Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I wish I could make this. With the new snow this week, hopefully y'all will find some good conditions up there. Looking forward to the TRs. Quote
mikebell Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Anyone need a ride? Leaving Redmond this afternoon. Quote
Dan_Miller Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 What's this, no reports from this Weekend's fun and frivolity in Mazama? Quote
