Off_White Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Irony. lamentably, conservaphucks seem incapable of grasping this concept i don't know if hate is the right emotion for ole'rush anyhow - you can't really hate something that isn't human, no? dehumanization of the "other" is a prime tactic of those who employ hate to rationalize their evil - from the Nazis straight to you Ivan. Irony. Quote

Nice try, but self-loathing is more of a pastime for liberals. amusing how the kkkonservatives spew their venom willy nilly but are oh so very sensitive when someone gives it back to them. truth is that rush limbaugh is one of the best things going for the democrats -- he drives shitloads of voters away from the republifucks with his venomous rantings. obama et al would be wise to send the best specialists out to hawaii to prop up the old windbag a little longer. could be his key to getting re-elected. prole Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Conservatives have no one to hate but themselves. Nice try, but self-loathing is more of a pastime for liberals. The first step to recovery is admitting there is a problem. Liberals have done this (to a degree). Quote
KaskadskyjKozak Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 truth is that rush limbaugh is one of the best things going for the democrats -- he drives shitloads of voters away from the republifucks Rush was on the air when the Republicans took control of Congress in 1994, and retained control every two years until 2006. He was also on the air when W was elected and reelected. Guess that proves your point to be bullshit. Quote

tvashtarkatena Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Limbaugh came up with a simple, minimum effort program format for a very targeted audience: spirited, bigoted commentary on the recycled political commentary of other pundits. No guests, no research, no background knowledge of any of his topics. A quick sampling of his callers indicates that his audience of approximately 13 million constitutes the country's lowest common denominator from an intellectual standpoint (save, perhaps, those who can't figure out how to work a radio). They seem to require nothing more of him than a Right On! style approval of their incuriousity, ignorance, and social dysfunction. He frequently refers to these listeners as family, and, being a one year college flunk out himself, they really are his peeps in many ways. Except, of course, for his 33 million dollar a year income. Rush's target listener is white, uneducated, lower middle class, and dissatisfied. Limbaugh's is a repetitive formula, the Big Mac of radio, and it captures a similar quantity over quality consumer. As for any actual political sway, it's hard to imagine he has much. His audience just isn't that large. Neither liberals nor folks in the political center, which share a healthy dose of solid, liberal, middle class values of kindness and an aversion to cruelty and bullying, don't listen to his show: it's too boring and offensive. 15 minutes of Rush and you've heard the only song he'll ever sing. His regular listeners are on the KKK end of the political spectrum; they wouldn't get within a light year of the political center; there's nothing to sway there. Quote
tvashtarkatena Posted January 2, 2010 Posted January 2, 2010 Rush's listeners seem to be mostly working class stiffs, and mostly guys of course, who need to blame somebody else for the shit sandwich they've chosen to eat every day. Rush tells them they're OK and everybody else is fucked up; its all the fault of those damn negroes, blah, blah, blah. We all know the type. Quote
