What kind of knot is that, anyway? Doesn't look like a double-fisherman. Are the tails sewn to the cord?

Weird.

* not for use as an anchor

huh?

Certainly doesn't look like a DF to me, neither. And the tails are definitely stitched to the standing end.

Re-traced figure eight. Kind of like a water knot, but using a figure eight. Had a partner that liked to tie the rappel ropes together that way.

"Weight per foot 4 ounces "

"Two pre-tied 6mm cords are 28 inches (72mm) and 47.5 inches (120mm) in length"

That's over 1.5 lbs for 2 loops of cord? Seems a bit heavy...

Is that the same thing as a flemish bend?

Is it any better/worse than a DF? I've never used a retraced F8 in that application.

Called a Flemish Bend. (Essentially a rewoven figure 8.) Supposed to be easier to untie after loading than a double fisherman's. Also supposed to not get snagged as much. I haven't used it enough to determine the snagging, and how much are you loading a rap rope anyways?
