mike1 Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 2) Ramp up fitness training starting with Ruckle Ridge next weekend, Ohhh... Thats a fun trail when it's raining out... Plus I think the top is all snow, creating a fun route finding adventure. I might see ya up there if these shitty avy conditions persist. It seems like every time I've done the Ruckle it's been during a windy, rainy day leading to snow atop. Last time I spent 40 minutes trying to find the trail down. Finally had to break out the map and compass. Quote
billcoe Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 My trip goal is to spend my wifes 50th birthday (Christmas day! of all things) climbing in Thailand. The last time we almost did this, my daughter, who is in college, couldn't make it, so at the last min we changed plans went to Paris and dicked off instead. The tidal wave of the century hit the place we would have been. So in addition to staying out of the hospital, I want to survive the year. BTW, I was out hiking in the gorge yesterday looking for climbable cliffs, I bet ya a fin ya didn't make it very far up the Ruckle. Be good fitness, wet weather and snow humping practice though. Cairns Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 To stay out of the mountains. see a dentist. Hey, I need to push myself on that, too, though 2008 is probably too soon. It's one of those problems that will solve itself if you put it off long enough. Mountains > hospitals > dentists Quote

Plus, it's been awhile since I've got up some alpine snow so maybe something new in the Montana Cabinets. A few low 5th solos would be nice too. And lastly but not leastly, I'd really like to get up Stuart's North Ridge. Quote
sirwoofalot Posted December 31, 2007 Posted December 31, 2007 1.) Goal As I did NOTHING in 2007 - yeah that really sucks - I would like to make at least one TR on CC. Even a walk up would be better than what I did in 2007. 2.) Plan Get in better shape. Sweet talk the wife for the hall pass. And if that does not work then throw the kids in the car and take off for something on I-90 that they can walk up. Quote
