You're alright in my book. Unbridled passion is a gift, just don't let it get you in too much trouble. [Wink][big Drink]

Local climbing store here in Yakima (Hyperspud Sports, 509-248-2093) sells them down to about 1.5" x 3", but they all come in a variety pack, so you'll get some other, bigger sizes too.

Could you use a condom? Seriously, I hear that some packpackers keep them in thier emergency kit to use as water containers and other wierdness (obviously). Personally, I'd rather die than drink water out of a prophalactic.

I want some for carrying spices in the woods. You're not supposed to use film cans for this purpose, and a condom would not work great.

Condoms are very useful for a lot of applications other than the intended, for example, we use them at work to keep sweat off of the battery packs for body mics.

Just be sure to get the unlubricated variety for any off-label use! [Wink]

How come? I've been using plastic film cans for eons. Am I going to die of Ahlzeimer's or something like that?

uh, your from Ballard, the Paris of the west( he cringes), right?Well go on down to the BALLARD market and go to the bulk SPICE section and get what you need. Spices galore and a cute little ziplock bag to go with it! They even have tape an' shit so you write fenugreek or garam masala or black pepper or whatever.

There's something about the chemicals in the film that was in the cans before. I wash them and use them, but I've heard you should not put food in them.

Film cans are a little, er, heavy and bulky (no laughing) as well.

That's a great idea, Klar. I'll just run down to the store and steal whatever Ziplock bags I might need. Why didn't I think of that? [Roll Eyes]

uh, they give them (THE LITTLE ZIPLOCKS) to you for free! There is a big pile sitting there in a cute wicker basket in front of the bulk SPICE section in the BALLARD market.Note: all keywords have been capitalized.2nd note: do a quick price comparison on bulk spices vrs the little stupid bottles and you will always go bulk!

bye.

Yes, I understand. I buy bulk spices there all the time.

I was just looking for a place where I can buy some of these bags, and have them on hand. I am not going to steal them from the store, and I'm not going to go over there and buy sometihing every time I need a little bag.

Actually worked in a grocery store for years. I dont know how it is there in that one but it might be good advice. Call it stealing or call it being thrifty. Depending on how many you intend on using for spices is the real question if it was me. Taking about 5 or 10 might not be a big deal. Heck even just ask someone working there if it's ok.
