I just cut a whole shit load of bamboo that was growing through my fence and haven't tossed it yet. Some seemingly good pieces up to 7+ ft of all diameters. Seems like there should be some use for it beside going into the yard waste bin, so let's here the ideas :)

I own a Bamboo Bike. It rides stupendously.

I used to fly fish with a Bamboo rod. There was a fellow in town who had the whole heat treating setup and could take raw bamboo, cure, shape etc and create these amazing rods.

Hell yeah, that is good use for it.

Over here most people use the larger pieces for fencing or furniture. Small thin pieces are used for brochette's (shikabob). A friend of mine that had a house on Lake Kivu would use babmboo for the main mast on a makeshift sail boat. We always kept some on hand because inevitably we would break the mast when the winds were good.
