RuMR Posted August 1, 2011 Posted August 1, 2011 Until Oysterfest, the only way I would eat oysters was raw on the half-shell, with just a splash of fresh lemon. At Oysterfest this year, I learned that BBQ'ed on the half-shell with a minced garlic and butter sauce is the new way to go... with a splash of Tobasco. ... Â Try this Sobo...A chunk of blue cheese with Bacon in the half shell on the barbie! Quote

sobo Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Here's a cool idea - Dad makes his son pass a Test to Turn Five I think Kaizen is gonna make a very fine 5-year-old, but I must point out that he's already on his way to becoming a scofflaw. Note the mountain bike and dog in a wilderness area at 1:50-2:18. Bolting in a wilderness area can't be very far behind... Quote
murraysovereign Posted August 23, 2011 Posted August 23, 2011 Nonsense - Kaizen's a Canadian 5-year-old, and as such he's legally permitted to ride his bike on public land, accompanied by his dog if he so wishes, and he doesn't even need to get a permit from the government to do it - he can just go. It's one of the hallmarks of our radical socialist system of government - "public land" actually means just that - public land. Quote
sobo Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Oh, shite! Foiled by the 49th Parallel again! Curse you, murraysovereign! Quote
sobo Posted August 26, 2011 Posted August 26, 2011 Time for another kiddo update. These are from Nick's 9th birthday party last weekend at the Zero Gravity Gym in Poulsbo. Sorry for the blurriness, but these kids just move too fast for my cheap-ass Nikon digital to focus on them... Â Â Elaina on the dismount from the uneven parallel bars. Â Â Nicholas getting air on the long trampoline. Â Â Everybody say, "ICE CREAM!!!1" (Guest of Honor at the far end of the table, with his little sister on his left) Quote

selkirk Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011  The Goose will be 2 in November. Very much looking forward to the day she decides that bouldering / climbing is cool  We took her hiking a couple of weeks ago and figure she walked at least a good mile or more of the trail up to Wallace falls  So far she's an adrenaline junky who is obsessed with shoes, wallets, keys, driving, and cams. I've already accepted that fact that I'm screwed!      Quote

Ee-yup, it goes by all too quickly... Â We went walking on the trails around the Hurricane Ridge Visitor's Center for Elaina's 7th birthday. Here Nicholas and Elaina contemplate the drop from the summit of Sunrise Point near the Center.
