Cascade Urban Legends thread part 2?

Recommended Posts

Its funny how stories get passed around between climbers in the northwest. Campfires, long car rides, bivys, etc.

Anybody hear any good ones lately?

--------------------------

Secret limestone crags with pockets and bolts?

Airplane wreckage debris booty?

Mysterious caches (odd places)?

How Twight was banned from Canada?

Wolverine Sitings?

Hermits living in cabins in the foothills?

McCord or Fort Lewis stuff in the Cascades?

Body parts sticking out the ice on the Nisqually?

Finding a real big gold nugget on an approach?

Ancient fixed pins in impossible places?

Secret Hot springs?

Magnetic Field anomolies?

Mystery climbers establishing hardest routes under the radar?

UFO's?

All of the above have some shred of truth to them. Don't ask.

Secret limestone crags with pockets and bolts?

Granite near Renton, bigwall near B'ham

How Twight was banned from Canada?

I've heard Twight's explanation from his show, and I've heard a totally different version from another celebrated climber.

Wolverine Sitings?

I heard it was a badger in the outhousae at the campground near Athabasca Glacier... some poor chap sat down on the can and it came ripping out. Always wondered if it was true or not but I've hesitated to ask! Regardless... Now I always carry my headlamp into the outhouse and peer inside before sitting down.

Goodell Creek is a brutal and dangerous bush/cliff-whack. So is Access Creek. It is best to avoid them altogether.

Hmmm... noticed the initial post was misspelled. Was it supposed to Wolverine sittings or Wolverine sightings?
