I really like the Kangaroo and Kiwi. It is on the way to my climbing gym, and it is not smokey. They have food and good beer too. I take it he's ready to spring for a pitcher. fixed Catbird's name in title Edited November 4, 2005 by chucK
catbirdseat Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Absolutely, I'll buy the first pitcher. It's going to be a hoppy ale.
RocNoggin Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 It is on the way to my climbing gym on the way to the gym? you drink before you climb?!
catbirdseat Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 A Catbid is compound word. A bid by a catbird to get people to gather and drink a mixture of boiled grain with flowers from a climbing vine and fermented by a microorganism that is known for producing CH3H2OH as a waste product. fixed Catbird's name in title
catbirdseat Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 Are you volunteering, Rudy? Knots seem to fascinate you.
Kitergal Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 no the timmy o'neil (chicks only) pre-funk is already scheduled at a non-disclosable location....ideally...not near you!
catbirdseat Posted November 4, 2005 Posted November 4, 2005 What about after the show, Marie? I won't be there until 9 pm anyway.
Kitergal Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 that's a possibility...but some of us have a LONG drive home....and have to get up EARLY for work!! We'll see....It's definately an option!
Kitergal Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 although..I would think about changing the venue to a location closer to the show.....so it's easier for people to "walk" to it!
catbirdseat Posted November 5, 2005 Posted November 5, 2005 Sure. Feel free to suggest a place close to the show.
Dave_Schuldt Posted November 7, 2005 Posted November 7, 2005 Where is the Timmy O'neal show? Maybe he'll have 2 girls strip for a rope instead of 2 guys.
Gary_Yngve Posted November 8, 2005 Posted November 8, 2005 Sounds like we should have a post-Patagonia pubclub. Maybe we can call it after the show?
mattp Posted November 9, 2005 Author Posted November 9, 2005 So much for that idea. I would have gone to the K&K for an Aussie pie and a catbeer, but I was away from the computer all day and at 8:00 pm when I looked on here it was not at all clear there was any gathering anywhere.
knotzen Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I'm sorry we couldn't hook up with you, Matt. A few of us--Marie, Gary, klenke, archenemy, AlpineK, and myself--met up after the program (which was very funny and inspiring, BTW ) and walked down the block to Jai Thai for multiple beers, two vodka gimlets, and several arson attempts by Marie and the bartender.
catbirdseat Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 Glad you guys had a good time. I decided to go work out, instead.
olyclimber Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I saw AlpineK and Gary, but missed the rest of yall (other than the clan I sat with). I was there with the sendbot, and apparently underage drinking is illegal in Washington State, so we could not get into any bars. So instead I went home and benched 350 (12 reps) and squatted 750 (20 reps). Then I practiced my poses, and called it a night. We need to have a lil film contest like they had (24 hours/in camera editing only).
Gary_Yngve Posted November 9, 2005 Posted November 9, 2005 I don't get that dumb rule. It's not like a toddler is going to be mistaken for a 19 year old trying to get plastered. I heard that the Montlake Grill is kid-friendly, though it's a ways away from you.
