jon Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Well folks as of yesterday cc.com is officially 5 years old, and what better way to celebrate it's birthday then chicks making out at RopeUp...... hell yeah. Yes some of you have wasted 5 years of your life in the place. Anyways we have some big improvements lined up for this place in the next couple months so keep your eyes open for announcements regarding the big message board upgrade. Quote
EddieE Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 Five years of my life I'll never get back. Quote
fiende Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 shout out to my homies in the Member Number < 100 club Quote
mattp Posted October 3, 2005 Posted October 3, 2005 That is admirable, indeed, but you have to have over at thousand posts to make it into the top 100 club. Quote
jon Posted October 4, 2005 Author Posted October 4, 2005 1st post five years later........maybe you'll find the courage again in another five years to post again! Quote
EWolfe Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Met a lot of climbing pardners and friends through this **ahem** resource. Â Happy birthday! Quote
Lowell_Skoog Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Congratulations Jon and Tim! Â Wow, I didn't realize that I registered so early in the life of CC.com. Is this a sign of prestige, like a low Co-op number? Should I pass my login along to my son when he gets older? Â Just kidding ... (one smiley for each year) Quote
forrest_m Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 more like the opposite - it's a sign of how long you've had a day job in front of a computer rather than being a real dirtbag climbing bum. (sure, even dirtbag climbing bums surf the net NOW, but five years ago?) Â thanks for all the entertainment, jon & tim! to think, when i first wandered in here, i thought it was just going to be a TR database... Â (forrest_m, #30) Quote
mvs Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Congradulations, this place has been so much fun! Â (mvs, #14) Quote
sobo Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 I was a late-comer, but it's been a fun ride all the same. Thanks, jon and timmy, for making this place happen. Â (sobo, #201) Quote
Doug Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 What a great distraction it's been! And, since I'm almost done with school (only 2 months left to go, I may get my post count up over 500! Â (Doug, #33) I wonder if there's any significance to my cc.com anniversary being the same as my wedding anniversary.......? Quote
sobo Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 You had an anniversay yesterday? Congrats, Man! Which one was it? 5th, or is just the same date? Quote
gregm Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 i wonder if when i am 80 i will look at the archives of the board like dusting off old photographs of my youth, or well actually middle ages i guess. Quote
AllYouCanEat Posted October 5, 2005 Posted October 5, 2005 Gawd, 5 yrs? I can't imagine how I will feel when the 50th anniversary comes up. Maybe they'll be flame wars about elderly folk who are using prosthetic and robotic limbs to climb. Â Old man - "You're a young punk and couldn't climb out of your mammas lap." Â Young punk - "Well you couldn't climb the tooth in 2001 old man." Further quoting from old TR's that you posted a fifty years ago as proof. Â Ha. Ha......ahhhh. I can't wait. Â (AllYouCanEat, #260) Quote
Doug Posted October 6, 2005 Posted October 6, 2005 Anniversary number 8. Wild celebration, we took our daughter to gymnastics and grabbed a quick dinner on the way home, then I did homework. Quote
