mattp Posted April 21, 2005 Posted April 21, 2005 Once again, its time for the Climbers Picnic at Woodland Park. Stand by for details....
mattp Posted April 22, 2005 Author Posted April 22, 2005 Yes, it's cinqo de mayo. A small survey I took suggested that would be a fine date - I hope so. Â
dkemp Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Damn thats a cool pic of karate crack... I have a meeting to go to that night, I think I'll have to miss this one - dang!
John Frieh Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Any PDXers who want to carpool let me know. Â Hey all you lurkers, newbies, and anyone who suffers from a lack of partners! This is an excellent opportunity to meet people who are looking to go climbing! Bring some beers and start recruiting! See you there!
Cobra_Commander Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 Are windshirts optional? uhm, don't bother bringing a #2 pencil cause you ain't getting a partner application (the questionnaire is still scantron, right?)
mattp Posted April 25, 2005 Author Posted April 25, 2005 Anybody have slides of some Mexican volcanos? Â Anybody have a digital projector?
whirlwind Posted April 26, 2005 Posted April 26, 2005 definatly a good pic of k-crack, if anyone in b-ham wants to carpool i might go too
Gary_Yngve Posted April 28, 2005 Posted April 28, 2005 Anybody have slides of some Mexican volcanos? Anybody have a digital projector?  I can bring a digital projector. But I'd like to have fun, not just be AV tool. So the rules will be simple:  You bring a CD with your pics in a folder. We'll play the pics in alphabetical order from the folder using Irfanview on my laptop. I'm not providing any other assistance. If you're fumbling around too much, you'll be sidelined in favor of someone else who can show pictures more smoothly.

Any suggested file size or resolution?
Gary_Yngve Posted April 29, 2005 Posted April 29, 2005 1024x768 JPG, but not required. Anything smaller will look grainy, and anything larger will be slower. Obviously don't show up with 20Meg TIFFs. As long as filesizes are not more than a few megs and the file format is standard, things should be fine.
Gary_Yngve Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Matt, do you have a screen? I can get one, but then I'll need to arrange transportation for the screen, so I'd prefer if someone else can handle that.
mattp Posted May 2, 2005 Author Posted May 2, 2005 I have a screen, but it is a little undersized for our purposes (4 feet). It works just fine, though. I'll bring an extension cord and an old school projector (Kodak).
olyclimber Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Will there be karoake at the picnic? Squid will be requiring karoake. He'll be singing 'Desperado'.
Gary_Yngve Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 The screen I have is larger. I should be able to arrange for a ride...
klenke Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Will there be karoake at the picnic? Squid will be requiring karoake. He'll be singing 'Desperado'. Will there be earplugs provided at the picnic? People will be requiring earplugs. Squid will be singing 'Desperado'.
Squid Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 <cough, cough> Damnit, OC, my opus is 'Me & Bobby McGee.' Or it was, until Kyle McLaughlin went and ruined it for everyone.
klenke Posted May 3, 2005 Posted May 3, 2005 "If six turned out to be nine, I don't mind. I don't mind. If all the hippies, cut off all their hair. I don't care. I don't care. Dig. Cuz I got my own world to look through And I aint gonna copy you."
