At Timberline, Oregon, if conditions get too bad, they close the lift. That happens at Crystal all the time. So what? Whistler will definateley have competition on this one. A lift tower was blown over at one point, and they quit trying to open it in winter, it's not cost-effective at all. Even the Magic Mile is on standby or outright closed much of the winter. Only information, and opinions about several articles that have been posted, which frankly seem to be full of misinformation. Passing threats of slander around doesn't seem very productive. What would be, is clearing the air. My opinion is that this would be an unfortunate developmennt. Others may differ. We have the right to voice those concerns. You have the right to voice your opinion. Go for it! I for one enjoy our wilderness and the lack of commercial use we are fortunate enough to enjoy in washington. Whistler is great, but there are a thousand hills like that around that part of the world. We only have so many volcanoes. Who cares about nature anyway, just a bunch of stupid trees, who needs them; we need shopping malls! After all, parking lots, casinos and golf courses are very beautiful, nothing like the fresh smell of tar and pavement. I will give up tree hugging and start a movement to help save the casinos.
