fenderfour Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I was going to climb Eldorado, Klawatti and Austera this weekend. Now my partners are whining about the forecast. They want me to bivy at the car on Friday so that we can get up at 6:00 am to rain and drive home. WTF? Anybody else have weak-ass climbing partners? Quote
cracked Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 Yeah, partners who whine about my suggesting plans different from the original, then get online and bitch about it publicly. Have a nice day. Quote
John Frieh Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 fender... it's not your fault; you just can't compete with pandora. the forecast is fairly suck this weekend. Quote
fenderfour Posted May 27, 2004 Author Posted May 27, 2004 Pandora? As far as I know neither of my partners know her... And I don't think cracked is talking about me... Is the Inspiration glacier pretty safe this time of year? Would it be unreasonable to solo Eldo and Austera? Quote
cracked Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 I simulsoloed Eldo on skis with three other guys in April! Quote
John Frieh Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 My bad... The inspiration will be safe for those well versed in glacier travel and how crevasses form. Realize that this time of year they are beginning to open, but just enough to swallow you and get covered by recent snow fall. Hmmm... Quote
eric8 Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 fuck dude chill out you still have time to find a new partner its not like you hiked in for 12 miles in perfect weather and your parenter bailed for some lame reason though I do find lame when I'm soloing and my partners pitch because i don't set a top rope up Quote
Dave_Schuldt Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Yeah, partners who whine about my suggesting plans different from the original, then get online and bitch about it publicly. Have a nice day. Did Pandora blow you off? Quote
Pandora Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 fender... it's not your fault; you just can't compete with pandora. Whaddya mean, he can't compete with my bitching? Quote
billcoe Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 Weak assed? Hmmmm, thats one way to look at it. I figure that my old mainstay climbing partner of 20 some odd years (who just stopped climbing a year or 2 ago) probably saved my life perhaps 3 times with his "change of plans". Me as a young pup on Rainer " I can lead this 80' pitch of water ice and drag 3 beginners and you up and we'll summit in 2 hours, come down chop a bollard and rap" kind of bullshit talk. Bob " dude, ya might want to reconsider, check the time, weather, skill levels of these folks, gear we have, etc etc.". about 40 min later it's cloud capped and sleeting near sideways as we struggle down in a whiteout. Dodh You want to hear more? Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon Thank you Bob Mcmahon. Repeat as necessary. Now, thats different than the 3 people who bailed last time cause "I forgot my shoes and it's too far to go back home" kind of piss-assed story." Or, "I gotta mow my lawn". fenderfour Posted May 28, 2004 Author Posted May 28, 2004 How about "I dunno. It might rain" It might not be bothersome if we hadn't been planning this climb for a week assuming it would be raining. When it comes time to buck up the wankers got whiny. Quote
lummox Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 weak-ass climbing partners? i hate climbers who bitch more than weakass fukers. stfu Quote
Alasdair Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 I was going to climb Eldorado, Klawatti and Austera this weekend. Now my partners are whining about the forecast. Sounds to me like your climbing partners made the right decision. If there is one place that is likely to have shitty weather it is the eldorado, boston basin area. And in case you haven't seen it the weather is going to suck this weekend. Quote
cracked Posted May 28, 2004 Posted May 28, 2004 NO! Don't say it! The weather's going to be GOOD, dammit! Quote
