fern Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I busted a ski last night. Anybody have something decent in 160cm to 175cm range? Don't need fat, rad sidecut or bling 'cause I don't want to spend much $$$. Quote
HRoark Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I can cut down a pair of 201's for ya. That work? Quote
schnitzem Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I have about 6 pairs of old downhill boards all around 195 cm. You can have all of them for $20!!!! Salomons and Olins Quote
mammut_rep Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 Fern, I have an old pair of Black Diamond Seracs in 180cm that have been mounted with Silvrettas but have never been skied on (the Silvrettas have been removed). I'll let them go for $125.00 OBO. It's a good lightweight ski for AT or downhill. Quote
fern Posted February 11, 2004 Author Posted February 11, 2004 thanks ... but since I am barely 5'2" I think 180s will be too long. Quote
boatskiclimbsail Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I've got a pair of top shelf Atomics (R11.20), 165cm going for $200. Not sure if that is "cheap" but they sell new for over a $1000. I'd love an excuse to ski up north too... Quote
Blake Posted February 12, 2004 Posted February 12, 2004 Hey boatclimbskisail... I shot you a PM, you have bindings and/or boots? Quote

pindude Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 ripped an edge out and peeled the base up on some icy choss. thanks for the suggestions all, I am looking at various options. Hmmm, repairable in the right hands? Don't know how far gone yours are, Fern. On the second day with a new pair of skis several years ago, I hit a hidden obstacle and ripped about the middle third of one edge off so that it was in a big "U". Also peeled off a big chunk of the base. Thought the skis were toast, but took it in to a local shop to confirm. The Tech guru there not only repaired the base with a new rectangular chunk of p-tex base, but got that edge reattached. Skied em in races and on ice and hardpack for several years after that. I recall it only cost about $35. Quote
