Dwayner Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 I've decided that this topic is a great waste of time. In fact, it calls too much attention to another poster's less-than-confidential negative comments about a climber that many of us respect. Let's wave the magic editing wand and make it all disappear!!! So...what's your favorite route at the Peshastin Pinnacles? [ 04-15-2002, 07:14 PM: Message edited by: Dwayner ] Quote
dberdinka Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Ok, even the last rewrite was bound to piss someone off. Let it be forever expunged. Sorry Chuck. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX [ 04-16-2002, 01:49 PM: Message edited by: dberdinka ] Quote
MysticNacho Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 I hurt someones feelings once. I felt bad. [ 04-17-2002, 08:18 PM: Message edited by: MysticNacho ] Quote
Dwayner Posted April 16, 2002 Author Posted April 16, 2002 Routes to do: Tunnel Route, Orchard Rock ***** Gray Whale *****, Vertigo****, W. Face, Grand Central Tower (over bolted but still good). Slender Thread (Austrian Slab)**** - don't slip getting up to that first bolt, cowboy! [ 04-15-2002, 07:17 PM: Message edited by: Dwayner ] Quote
allison Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 You know what my favorite part of the day was yesterday? It was burning that pallette that we found, it burned nice and slow, like a hardwood. Maybe it was a hardwood....sure didn't burn like pine or something. I think it's nice to enjoy a truck stop burrito with some taco sauce on the drive home from the crags. AW PS. Hey moderators...move this thread to Spray where it belongs!!! [ 04-15-2002, 07:27 PM: Message edited by: allison ] Quote
Dwayner Posted April 16, 2002 Author Posted April 16, 2002 Anybody ever do Alley Oop Chimney on Grand Central Tower? It's a real classic...not! How about Cro Magnon on Dinosaur Tower? Another Peshastin favorite! [ 04-15-2002, 07:19 PM: Message edited by: Dwayner ] Quote
AlpineK Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Don I believe you started this thread about learing at routes at Peshastin Pinnacles. One of my favs is Nirvana Ridge; also Lightning Bolt Crack is a good one I like to leer at. [ 04-15-2002, 07:30 PM: Message edited by: AlpineK ] Quote
Dwayner Posted April 16, 2002 Author Posted April 16, 2002 A little poetry, courtesy of Franky Z: "THE RADIO IS BROKEN." The cosmos at large It's so very big It's so far away The comets...the craters...the vapors The solar wind The residual echoes...the residual echoes The residual echoes from the giant explosion Where they said it beginned The germs from space! The negative-virus knit-wear The blobulent suit That's right! THE BLOBULENT SUIT It's made of rubbert, it's very ugly It's got an air hose... (The guy that has it all has a SPACE WRENCH!) The things that were supposed to be green In the balck and white movies They get you in the neck when you're not looking They get you, the get you, they get you, get you, get you The radio is broken -- it don't work no more The radio is broken -- it don't work no more The lovely Lisa Kranston: (Her father invented the secred fuel (that's right!) For the rocket) So she gets to go with a clipboard! She writes it down when the meters go around And falls in love in a space warp Space warp Space warp The giant knobs The porthole where you see the earth for the first time The corrugated fiberglass interior walls The parially reclining G-force lawn furniture The brown hole The pointed brasseries The atomic war The tiny little dresses on the space girls A love-starved race begging to reproduce With earthmen They need to reproduce (with John Agar) They need to reproduce (with Morris Ankrum) They need to reproduce (with Richard Basehart) They need to reproduce (with Jackie Coogan) They need to reproduce (with Sonny Tufts) The botchino...the botchino...the botchino The gigantic spider The co-pilot always plays the harmonica The navigator always gets killed by a bad space person Uh-oh -- the radio is broken It don't work anymore The radio is broken It don't work anymore The radio is broken It don't work anymore We'll never get back to the Earth no more Uh-oh! We have to fall in love on Uranus! The radio is... That's right -- uh-oh The radio is broken The meteor storm You spilled your coke You're stepping on the popcorn JOHN AGAR! Uh-oh... slaphappy Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 You think we're the same person? I choose to just Quote
Dwayner Posted April 16, 2002 Author Posted April 16, 2002 Okay...we have a very strong case for slaphappy, but we alpine lightweights are DEFINITELY sure about "blight". No doubts there. You act like you don't like me 'n pope, but we don't care...we're havin' a beer and a sit-start in your honor anyway...right ...now! Cheers, blight! pope Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 C-crack is my favorite. Bomb Shelter is pretty good. Sand Box sucks. Pope has spoken. [ 04-15-2002, 07:50 PM: Message edited by: pope ] Quote
Dwayner Posted April 16, 2002 Author Posted April 16, 2002 Hey! How come you guys don't want to talk about Peshastin! Quote
MysticNacho Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 I like the Lightning Crack myself, but then again there is a lot I haven't tried down there. I've "eyed" the routes on the Snow Creek Wall once, what of it huh!? [ 04-17-2002, 08:19 PM: Message edited by: MysticNacho ] Quote
rayborbon Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Lightning Crack and who cares what Allison says. Dumb. Quote
ruddersbox Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 My parents are from "Leer," Ostfriesland! Does that mean everything? Anyhow, carin less... CC is best. Quote
kevin_page Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 The best Peshastin route to leer or be leered at is Butter Brickle on Martian Tower. Nothing else except Nirvanna Ridge comes close (ok maybe Time Passages and Bomb Shelter). BB is exposed, vertical and obvious from the entrance/Orchard Rock area. Kramar describes it as "solid hand jams become pugilistic before reaching a series of large huecos protected by a museum of funky bolts". Good to do at least once. Quote
avypoodle Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 I agree with AlpineK, Lightning Bolt Crack with the original first pitch, not that sport slab, and Nirvana Ridge. That second pitch is classic Peeshastin, who did it before the retrobolt, and how scary was it? Quote
Dru Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Empire State Potholes Direct Direct Tunnel Route. I do that every time I go to Peshastin. Ltng Bolt Crack. Never found the loose hold on 2nd pitch. Boulder traverse below Orchard Rock. I dont like getting sprayed in the spring but I sure like stealing apples in the fall! Quote
ScottP Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Washboards with the Primate finish. Dr. Leaky Lightning Bolt Crack Quote
TimL Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 The best route in the vicinity of Peshastin is driving right by it en route to the higher quality shit rock at Vantage. Quote
rayborbon Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Yeah Washboards with Primate Finish is pretty sweet. Quote
dberdinka Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 After eating a large serving of humble pie, I guess I'll be off to join the summitposter gang. Have a nice day! Quote
chucK Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE!!! Did Allison get moderating powers? History has/is been/being rewritten. Quote
Sleeper Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Peshastin sucks! Let's hear some of Dwayers groping stories. Quote
