I also tend to agree with the three strikes you're out....I don't care if you wear a tie or not. So do you let your back up plan partners know they're the back up so they don't consider you a flake if your original plans don't fall through? ehmmic, That's priceless. one of the funniest/cleverest questions I've read. You can't strike out if you don't step up to bat, right? The kid's supposed to call me on Saturday night, we were going to leave on Sunday at 3am to go car to car. I end up calling him at 7pm, to find out his deal, and he's like "Dude...I'm so friggin tired...let's go to Mount Erie instead" FTN! I went to the gym instead. What would you do? Drop him as a partner. This person needs to learn a lesson. If they don't learn now, when will they? I have never bagged out on somebody like that. Ever. I know what it takes to make a commitment for time. Hell, I don't even cancel if it is raining out.

But face reality, Philipe Morris bought and closed down all three of the old school brewing icons of the NW. And in so doing fucked over a whole lotta people. Then they sold off the brands to a South African brewing conglomerate. Why would anybody drink a Rainier any more??? Do you really want to help line the pockets of wealthy post aparthied racist? A guy can't even enjoy a cold beer anymore without having to consider the political ramifications he's indirectly supporting? What is the world coming too? sheesh! How about Schmidt? Is that stuff still NW brewed? Lucky? Oly? Henry's? What's a guy with an obsession for cheap beer to drink while maintaining a firm moral stand? Your best bet is Henry's; which is now being brewed on contract by Full Sail brewing company. The mind boggles. And Full Sail is employee owned. Another bonus. Jens
In my limited expereince, it seems be instead age dependent. It always seems to be the younger climbers that stand you up or make you wait an extra 45 minutes at some park and ride at 1:30 in the morning. While you are waiting for your slacker parnter you often see some funny sh*t going on at park and rides at 1:30 am on a Saturday or Sunday Morning! The older partners tend to be more dependable with times, places, alarm clocks and dates. _____ Close your eyes and imagine: You've been preparing for the last 3 days for your 23.5 hour car to car uber blitz. The weather looks great and then...... Your 20 year old partner shows up an hour late at the park and ride. Upon getting in your car, he announces that he needs to get breakfast and that he has a hangover and the stupids from earlier in the evening. Upon reaching Marblemount, he then tells you he needs to sort gear and pack at the trailhead and that he forgot his crampons and the only piece of gear you specifically asked him to bring over the phone. Been there....done that.....
