Figger_Eight Posted December 6, 2001 Posted December 6, 2001 So what's the big deal? Salomon bought them. I like Salomon stuff. Adidas is marginally okay, too. It's not like how the North Face got bought up by Vanity Fair, putting them in the same family as Wrangler Jeans and Eastpak. Bitch bitch moan moan. Jon, if Wal-Mart offered you $10,000 bucks for this site you'd be laughing all the way to Cabo... Quote

I'm not upset about the fact that an actually decent company bought them, it's just the trend where the big guys buy companies that were perfectly fine on their own. I'd like to know what the reasons where for selling, hopefully not greed. Are they going to move manufacturing somewhere else now? Is that going to change the quality of their products? Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted December 7, 2001 Posted December 7, 2001 Check out Adida'teryx new line of ski jackets modeled by Fabio. Quote

I'm sure that Arcteryx is in the red now. There's is a real small niche business anyway and the yearly design and material changes have to cost them dear. Now with the economy tits up it only makes sense that they merge. Economics 101. Will the quality still be there...that remains to be seen. Quote
