chelle Posted November 26, 2001 Posted November 26, 2001 Hey Jon, you proposed a Seattle pub club this week. Where did you want to drink? Quote
erik Posted November 26, 2001 Posted November 26, 2001 yeah jon, where are WE going to drink this tuesday??!!!? i might need to sleep at someone's house and i am potty trained for the most part. oh yeah, i saw dwayner last night at the book store he is still alive, recouping from some sort of bird attack. it made him all fat and slow. so now maybe some of us might be able to keep up with him! David_Parker Posted November 26, 2001 Posted November 26, 2001 Owl and Thistle (serves Guiness on Tap) has been mentioned many times and has yet to recieve our gratuity. Really convenient for me! It's right downtown near the ferry terminal. Also, there's an exit close by off 99 (the viaduct). I'm up for it this week! There's another Irish pub (used to be called Tir-Na-Nog) on the same block, or Kels up in Post Alley. Shit, maybe we should do the first Cascade Climber Pioneer square/ Pike Market/ Bell Town pub crawl! [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: David Parker ] Quote
texplorer Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Why isn't the Pub Club ever in Portland? Maybe we should just name this site the washingtoncascadedrunkclimberswhohavedisavowedtheirportlandianneighbors.com Quote
AlpineK Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Quit whining bitch. Do you think all us Puget Sounders are going to drive to Portland for a couple hours? Start your own dam drinking fest. [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: AlpineK ] Quote
To_The_Top Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Why don't you start a Portland branch of the Pub Club? Just suggest it and they will come. Quote
EddieE Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Owl and Thistle in Post Alley out by the Ferry Terminal. See ya'll there. Quote
Beck Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Pub Club! Pub Club! Pub Club! Owl and Thistle sounds like the place, maybe Hikerwa can illuminate the board with directions, his work is in the same building and I hear there's some secret back stairway down to it so he can grab a pint of guiness on bathroom breaks! Quote
hikerwa Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Owl and Thistle is cool with me, the other Irish bar is now called FADO, It's not as dirty and the beer is not nearly as warm... I would offer to give anyone a ride, but I work directly upstairs in the same building!!! Quote
jon Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 The Owl sounds good to me. Will anyone be coming back to the eastside afterwards? Quote
Cpt.Caveman Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Maybe so bro. I wont know until tomorrow. Quote
hikerwa Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 The Owl and Thistle is in Post Alley. If one can get to the downtown area of seattle, they would travel to Columbia street from 5th avenue coming south and proceed to turn DOWN the hill on Columbia, stay to the very right (do not get on 99 south, you'll just end up in west seattle), at the stop sign look for some parking, and the Owl is in the alley to the north and east of the stop sign. or I hope this works.... hikerwa Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Alright I'll try something else... Owl and Thistle808 Post Avenue Quote
David_Parker Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 No Joke!!!! I stumbled across this site! http://www.pubclub.com/ They have a motto: "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading." Quote
Terminal_Gravity Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 Guiness is insipid flavorless piss brewed with more potatoes than malt. Quote
Beck Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 "Guiness is good for you" "Half a loaf(of bread) in every glass." Quote

David_Parker Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 What time does every one usually show up? Quote
hikerwa Posted November 27, 2001 Posted November 27, 2001 I'll be there at 5, I have the shortest commute, and I'll be by the pool table! Quote
