Braumeister Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 As I read through this board's threads on a near daily basis in an effort to alleviate office boredom and enhance my dreams of my next climbing trip to the PNW, I feel a kindred spirit with some of you. I'm intrigued by the Pub Club and some of the other adventures you all have here. My climbing buddy and I will be making our next pilgrimage in mid-July and would like to submit our application for joining you during our visit. Our qualifications include: 1. We LOVE Guinness, especially in tall glasses. 2. We climb. Whaddaya think? Can we join the club? Please be kind... Braumeister Quote

fern Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 Pub Club fights never get ghettoized in Spray. I think a guy with a name like Bra-Meister would fit in well at Pube Club. Quote
chucK Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 Muffy, I think "fawning" would be a better description. Braumeister, Yes. Sure you can, with only one catch, could you give Dave_Schuldt a ride? Quote

mattp Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 Bring us some pictures of Grand Ledge so we can see what we're missing! Quote
klenke Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 Our qualifications include: 1. We LOVE Guinness, especially in tall glasses. 2. We climb. Yep, those are certainly the required qualifications, though being a Guinness drinker is only extra gravy for being accepted. We never turn away new faces at Pub Club--especially if they handle the pitcher purchasing. Quote
Montana_Climber Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 >>>>Bring us some pictures of Grand Ledge so we can see what we're missing! Where else in the Michigan can you get such nice sandstone? Especially since it's only 40' tall. Quote
catbirdseat Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 Hell yes. If you can drink, show up. We've already got a Tacoma and PDX version of Pub Club. Why not start a Detroit PC? Quote
Braumeister Posted March 26, 2003 Author Posted March 26, 2003 Detroiters are already too busy attending Red Wings pub clubs--besides, I live 250 miles from Detroit (thank God!). Does "PDX" have something to do with Portland? Our July climbing plans are for Adams w/ home base at a friend's house in Hood River... Someone asked about where else in Michigan you can see sandstone? Well, in Northern Michigan we don't climb our sandstone, we paddle around it... Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 PDX is the code for Portland's airport (like SFO for San Francisco, etc.), and apparently we Portlanders think we're clever referring to Portland as PDX. Or something like that. Quote
Winter Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 Hood River certainly is a beautiful place. You are more than welcome at the "PDX" pub club if you're ever around. DFA is too affraid to show his face. Ditch the soth side and check out the north side of Adams. The goats are friendly, and their ain't so many people. Just avoid the North risge unless you must use it as a descent. The Adams Glacier and the NF of the NW Ridge are both great. Quote
gapertimmy Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 if interested, you could buy a copy of "Tim and Jon's Building a Spary Site for Dummies Book", included is a chapter on how to start up and promote pub club. Quote

That's very flattering of you to say, but it's probably because you're always drunk to the point of double vision at those pub clubs. Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted March 26, 2003 Posted March 26, 2003 DFA will be at the PRG tonight, most likely standing up. Quote

iain Posted March 27, 2003 Posted March 27, 2003 you've just been itching to get that picture in the mix haven't you? Quote
Dr_Flash_Amazing Posted March 27, 2003 Posted March 27, 2003 You mistakenly miscast DFA's missive as a misquote! And to misrepresent Mr. Amazing as a miscreant is to miscalculate the Doctor's mission, and is misleading to the misspent misanthropes on this message board! Quote
