I must admit I’m feeling a little guilty for not posting any trip reports this year. While I have been getting out, it’s all just been hikes with my dog and summits haven’t been my focus. I’m just trying to get to all the places wanted to go but haven’t for some reason.  This place I haven’t because the parking lot is usually full with a 1/4 mile of cars along the road.  But this weekend there were just a few cars and it was a beautiful weekend. Next year I do plan on the traverse up here, but an extended on from Dingford.   I’m sure many of you can guess the location this was taken from.

Oh I'd like to do that!  Never been in there and it has long been on the list.  Still though, planning on the shorter traditional version, if only for the car shuttle logistics.  But the Dingford end is cool !!

I went to one end the previous weekend, and the other side this weekend.  there are a lot of people doing that traverse!  I ran into a few.  I would have just gone for it if I had one extra day...but I kinda of like the idea of coming from Dingford and adding in HInman for a longer trip (along with Iron Cap, etc) along the way. Would be less traffic for the first part of it for sure.

Cool area!  No wonder it is popular.  I should have gone in twenty years ago, but I was too busy chasing hardman dreams on the bigger peaks north.  All I found was a thin yellow pad.

Yes the Alpine Lakes is perfect for the elderly.  Glad I didn’t do all this stuff earlier because I’m really enjoying doing it for the first time now.
