I've got to be in S. Seattle this afternoon for a conf. I can swing by your place around 4 or so (assuming I don't get lost :-) sound ok?

yeah, the 4cyl in the jeep sucks goat balls. but the inline 6 4L is a kickass truck motor, tons of tourqe down low. Back in my beer drinking, hell raising, gun toting, redneck days I had a 94 I bought new. Straight from the dealers lot to my garage it got a lift, tires and winch. That first week out in the local state forest (4wd trails - tread lightly and all that) I put a big groove down the passenger side when I tried to squeeze up a washed out road that was a little too narrow. Big fun. Absolutely no socially redeeming value

Don't forget the original small suv, the jeep. You can even get a wrangler with all the off road goodies (the real ones, not the off road stickers). Stuff like a 4:1 transfer case, 31" tires, dana 44 axles front and rear, 4.10 gears, real manual lockers in the pumpkins, diamond plate armor, nv3500 5 speed, etc. all for about 25k. I know an 80:1 crawl ratio isn't much when compared to a 'mog but it's damn impressive for a modern factory vehicle. If DC decides to make a rubicon in the new extended unlimited wheelbase, I am so there

well anything with corny canadian spelling for one ...

nah, I don't need a gun rack, I've got a concealed carry permit

You know Josh, every time I get the urge to get a subaru or something practical for my next car I think of people like you and resolve to get a hummer h2 in bright yellow and commute to work alone just to piss off the suv hating tree huggers As far as the hybrid escape goes, dru's probably right. Ford has the worst rep of domestic makers when it comes to quality and engineering smarts, we'll have to see. But as a general proposition trucks make an inviting platform for electic drive motors. Electric motors make max tourqe at low rpm, which is exactly what you want in a heavy work vehicle.

These demons followed us all the way down the trail trundling rocks on top of us. Even though I had a helmet I got tagged by a big one on the back of the neck Somebody needs to put the fear of humans back into these overgrown rodents with horns. I'm bringin' my glock next time I go up SCW - I figure I'll only have to dispatch one or two before they begin to get the message

As I recall BP, it was a really cold morning, and you were appropriately dressed in shorts, a t-shirt and mythos. Nearing the top of my heinous lead I hear "ahh dude, mind if I pass? - I'm gettin' a little cold here" And by the way BP, where's the TR and pics from the super secret party / sendfest you and the crew had up in the hills of leavenworth a couple of weeks ago ?? I want to hear all the sordid details of drunken FA's
-
Hey that reminds me. Do you happen to know what the conditions are like at the pass? Do I need boots and gaiters for potential post holing or will approach shoes work? Also do you know if the routes I plan to climb will be dry? ... seriously, so the fuck what if people ask about conditions. Sure everyone knows there is snow to some degree or another, but what's wrong with getting up to date info if someone's been to the area you're interested in. Lighten up dude !

If I'm not mistaken that's the exit 38 area just underneath the iron horse trail. On the right side of the pic you'll notice a concrete abutment for the trail (old rail grade). There's a climb even more noteworthy there - it's a "crack" climb formed where the natural rock meets the concrete abutment. It's even got a name, bolts, a grade, and a FA party

.. umh, not quite. the point with white gas cannisters is that they are reusable. you don't throw them out, you just fill them with more white gas. unless of course you mean what to do with the container the white gas comes in from the store. (just make sure it's empty and handle as normal, recycle, trash, whatever).

Fuck, the weather was ok on snow creek wall on sunday!?!? everone predicted like 50% chance showers. Fuckin weather report was all over the man. 1st 0% sat 30% sun, then 40%sat 10%sun (got my shit packed up then), then 20%sat(too late) and 50%sun. WTF??? I've gone when it forecast 30% and it rained like a motherfucker all day long. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. still, with a forecast like that and gas prices like they are, I stand behind my decision, but I am fucking pissed that it was ok! you guys suuuuuuuuuuuuuck you need to stop believing those stupid ass weather reports mike, it's always sunny in der leavenworth -

friday afternoon at index saturday at pearly gates sunday did outer space, this was my first time on snow creek wall, don't know what took me so long to do this. what a route whirlwind, what happened man?? did a little rain in the night scare you off -
The tooth is cool, it's easy to get to, easy to climb in any weather and best of all there is no other climb in the cascade's that is more spray - worthy !! I think I've only done it once this year, but maybe 5 or 6 times overall. This is a gaper tr of a solo climb on my birthday a couple of years ago. This photo is from earlier this year during one of those weekends that everyone stays home because the weather is so crap. (by the way in early winter the direct climb up to pinapple pass is super fun, with snow, ice, rock moves, and a cornice).

I'm fairly certain I remember taking that piece off the rack before doing spagetti sauce at icicle buttress. I put it on your pack along with some other gear I removed, so I think the spagetti sauce area would be the best chance of recovery. It really sucks to lose stuff - sorry if it was my fault.

Brass Balls is an awsome pitch, followed TimL on it on Saturday. <Note to self: it really sucks falling on a roof pitch while following, must get better> Sunday was up at careno crag and then some roadside fun at icicle buttress and classic crack. Sunday night a mini pc at gustavs with MisterE, TimL, Skyclimb, Michael, Mike Layton, and Distel (after he broke free from the older women hitting on him all night ). Word to the board - don't fool around with MisterE and the check, the dude will throw down the smack down collecting up from dirt bag climbers (I'm pretty sure I got hosed on the bill ) Monday brought the monster rack of draws up to condor. Great weekend, good weather, good times

Great job guys, way to go for it in so-so weather. This one is on the tick list for sure. And who knew - from your photo it looks like Greg and Trask are one in the same !!

The 9th circuit is the most reversed bench in the country, by something like a 2 to 1 ratio to it's nearest competitor.
