  1. tape is for emergancy reasons only. like when you get that compound fracture and you don't want the bone tearing through anymore skin. tape it up. and deal with it when you get home.
  2. better wait till the end of the ski season before trying to move to some resort town. i got a friend struggling in driggs right now, with work and housing. i would consider a city close to the action, but not one right in it. you will fall prey to the jaded attitude that most resort towns people have. "o i live in the best place on earth" qho gives a fuck. i am an adult i have plenty of money, but i dont want to be part of an elitest culture that most of these people consider them in. whoopty fuckin do. if you really want to experience life then roadtrip without work. work just taints these places. and as far as bend goes, worst place on the planet. on that one blode kid who guides for redpoint is a perfect example. my $.09

  8. wicked dude! thats like 2 blocks from my house!!!!!!!!!! Phone tip leads police to body in South Tacoma alley DEAD MAN: It's Tacoma's first homicide of 2002 Stacey Burns; The News Tribune Guided by an anonymous tip, Tacoma police discovered a dead man Wednesday morning in the alley of an older South Tacoma neighborhood. Investigators believe the man died of multiple gunshot wounds, police spokesman Jim Mattheis said. Pierce County medical investigators have not released the man's name pending notification of his family. Police have no motive but were working some leads Wednesday. The man's body appeared to have been dumped in the 6400 block of South Montgomery Street, Mattheis said. His pants had been pulled down to his knees and his blue shirt lifted above his waist. An anonymous caller phoned 911 at 7:08 a.m. from a pay phone outside a convenience store at South 56th and Birmingham streets, Mattheis said. Detectives plan to search through surveillance videos from the store for leads in the investigation. Detectives scoured the South Tacoma neighborhood for information about what might have happened as forensic technicians photographed and measured the taped-off crime scene. Investigators believe the body was put in the alley sometime early Wednesday, Mattheis said. Neighbor Tina Yorks said the body was between her and her neighbor's back yard, near a green shed; neither she nor her husband heard anything unusual during the night. She started hearing neighborhood dogs barking around 7:30 a.m. When she looked out her window, she saw police officers and detectives swarming the area. "I don't want to live here now," said Yorks, who's been renting her house for the past eight months. "I don't enjoy seeing dead bodies, especially when I have kids." The man's death is the first homicide of the year in Tacoma. There were 17 homicides in the city in 2001.

  11. for the most part fossil is a couple times kinda crag. you go a couple times and you are done. the sandstone towards wilkeson is more of a practice area used by learning institutions and a local guide service. fossil sits on weyherhauser land and wilkeson on champion land. they both are controlled logging areas and are subject to be closed or open without any public warning. if you really want to climb at fossil. park your car at the junction of the k-line and bald hills road and start riding your bike. just go to north bend if you want to sport climb and go to index if you want to do some real climbing. email if you want more info

  15. quote: Originally posted by chris_w: The instructions read.... There are brown pitons in the rock, they are hard to see in the picture and we already lost half of them last night. Chris chris if you want we can clean those pitons and drill some nice 1/2" stainless steel bolts. that way even with corosian they'll be good for years to come.
  16. note to self even those millet ropes look like such a great deal, but they are actually the worst ropes out there. kinda like you get what you pay for. look at the mammut super safes. and in canada millet still sucks. [ 01-09-2002: Message edited by: erik ]

  24. if you want compentent instruction make sure oyu go through an amga certified guide. do not use the "i have the summer off from college so i want to be a moutian guide cause i think it is a cool job" complanies. thats like having me take you climbing and charging you money. sure most companies have a couple amga guides on staff but unless you pay the big bucks you ain't gettin one. amga certifeid independent guides are the way too go, you won't get that cattle feeling.
  25. dont fall i have two pairs of laminate pants. i personally like the pant over the bib, as i am a fat ass and over heat pretty easy. and then again anymore with all this schoeller stuff out there now, who even wears laminate pants/bibs??? i figure that if i am going to carry laminate shells then i want the lightest ones. bibs weigh more than pants. so i would say pants over bibs.
