Good, because half of your criticisms of Kerry carry over to W (energy independance, reshuffling a beauracracy to increase security, economic rhetoric,....)

Excellent Movie And we need people with the ability to solve our problems in Faluja, etc. Taking the war to the whole country, and the whole region, subduing them with massive force isn't going to be the solution, IMHO.

Lemay's tenacity and determination won the Pacific. As well as the Berlin Airlift. His chairmainship of the Strategic Air Command struck fear in the heart of Stalin. I was referring to the later Lemay, who thought a Nuclear War with the Soviet Union over Cuba was both "winnable" and rational. We need people like that to carry out a war - we can't afford to let people like that make the decision to go to war.
  4. As this thread shows, the majority of people here don't view a register as litter. Unlike bolts, they are easily removable, so if in the future this position changes it's easily rectifiable.
  5. You can get stuff cheaper elsewhere? They don't tell you which items are backordered/dropshipped from the manufacturer?
  6. They aren't NECESSARY in your opinion. But your to damn wrapped up in your own ego to realize that. They ain't the best thing, but no need for a jihad. Bolts, rap slings, and horsecrap are all more annoying to me.
  7. Do you follow a trail on your "wilderness experiences"? If you go about removing registers at least save them, don't chuck.
  8. That they were damaged/went AWOL for natural reasons is understandable to me. Because someone comes up with some crackpot jihad about human marks in the environment and destroys them I find very lame.
  9. That stuff is great - but battery use isn't as important at home (for me at least) so the extra cost of a Centrino isn't worth it. On the road, or travelling, battery usage is a big deal.

So where are the links you found? Politicians saying one thing (and the media distorting them even further) isn't new. I'm not sure why your so surprised ("no new taxes" "I invented the internet", etc.)
  11. If you care about history, shouldn't you care when it disapears? Or is the contribution only valid if you spray about it?
  12. Uh, someone had to get to the summit to write the name in the register?
  13. Thanks- That's kind of what I thought looking at them in the store, I ended up getting the newmatic style.
  14. Websites are far more transitory than registers, journals have publication requirements. What's worthwhile today may not be worthwhile tomorrow.
  15. There are currently a number of places that offer access, yes, but I'm looking for WiFi access places that I spend time already (like airports). If I have to go out of the way to get internet access I might as well go home.
  16. They hide it very carefully. It's definitely a bummer
  17. I thought he hated hippy's?

He was classified as a Fighter Pilot. Kerry won a bunch of medals. If your going to cap on Kerry for the quality of his medals, why can't I cap on W for the quality of his being a fighter pilot? Not bothering to show up for a physical (we know that - whether he showed up for service, we don't) is lame. As are the other aspects of W's service.
  19. It's carefully veiled, but Shoreline's part of Mountain Gear. Same address, same website format, same inventory.
  20. WiFi's really cool - if it works for you. Right now there's no good nationwide network of Wifi providers. The Portland Airport doesn't have have Wifi The San Jose Airport uses Wayport, while the San Francisco Airport uses TMobile (which is widely available in Starbucks, etc). This situation is somewhat mirrored nationally. Some regional chains are now offering free Wifi with purchase of sandwich etc. So does Fast Eddy's in Moab. So getting to the point, it does rock to just walk in plop down and spray on cc , but check to see if service is available, or coming, to where you want it.

Flying a Fighter Jet onto an Aircraft Carrier to announce the end of the war, with everyone cooing over how "he was a fighter pilot", to announce the end of hostilities isn't a big deal?

What about the people who push Bush as a "Fighter Pilot"? I give Kerry credit for volunteering and serving - that's all. He ranks far higher than his opponents in my mind just for that. These political debates crack me up - people finding facts to back up their opinion.

"War is to important to leave to the generals" - G. Clemenceau Grung- Your beginning to remind me of Curtis Lemay - to focused on winning the battle to realize your going to loose the war.

    Well said Rob!
  25. I thought with the death of the Black Prophet all BD head's were the same? On the website they look the same...
