Until Fairweather has to pay the taxes on replacing the Alaska Way Viaduct with a tunnel. Personally I would just retrofit the shit out of the old viaduct, but I'm willing to pay my share for the tunnel if it makes a few people in spray.

She chose to join the sorority. I think that was a bad choice but not nearly as bad as skiping out on military service especially when family conections got you soft service while other kids without political conections are getting drafted and killed in a war.

Paul, joining a sorority and skipping out of military duty are two different things. Yes they do share a common root however the scale is totally different. There are criminal penalties for skipping out on military service whereas I can't think of much serious related to the greek system. That being said I don't think CG is that great. I voted for her because I thought she was slightly better than Dino. I do have misgivings about her charactor. I'm not that bothered about her joining a sorority a long time ago, but I am more concerned about how she answered questions regarding the sorority in the governors race. I'd be more accepting of an answer along the lines of being young, trying to fit in, and get ahead as opposed to her bs about how she was trying to change things from within. The vote was so close that a recount, even a third recount, is justified but eventually either CG or Dino is going to have to concede the race. I wont loose much sleep if CG is the one that concedes. One thing I am glad of is that the democrats are paying to recount the whole state. I'm sure there would be even more fighting if they didn't.

Every once in a while you pull your head out of your ass and say something intellegent Fairweather. I think that evolution is what you want to teach in a science class in school...because it's a science class. This doesn't mean that you can't also believe that god created the universe/earth/us. Unfortunatly there are so many vocal freaky christians out there who want to push their literal interpretation of as science. In the long run it will hurt us as a country. Science literacy is poor enough right now, and our economy and jobs depend more and more on having an educated population. You can't have an educated population if people don't know the difference between science and religious belief. Now as for this car thing. I just bought a chevy with a duramax diesel engine. The engine is the same as the diesel engine in my Isuzu FRR. Nowadays the auto industry is more and more a trans national business. It's kind of silly to argue the jap vs american car thing anymore.

I thought the defence made some good plays, but I don't think the offence got a first down till the 2nd or 3rd quarter. I haven't been paying much attention to football this year, so I've missed some of their good games, but I don't hold out much hope for a team that didn't even show up. That theatrical bullshit at the beginning of the game with players running out of dry ice fog and all the fireworks was pretty funny. The offence should have used those fireworks against the Bills...it might have helped.

Laugh it up. The fact is that any recount system that's in place would be something that both democrats and republicans agreed to. The party in control might think about imposing rules that scewed the results to their favor however most politicians are smart enough to know that they wont be in power forever and payback is a bitch. For those extra paranoid conspiracy theory folks like Fairweather you have the added benifit of having lots of lawyers from the republican party who were geared up for a presidential recount and now they have nothing better to do then go watch the recount in Washington state. But then again maybe the Trilateral Commision, the queen of England, and the Rothchilds are pulling the strings in the governers race.

My god those seaturkeys suck. I thought they were suppose to do ok this year. The game yesterday has to be the worst football game I've ever gone to see. The new stadium is nice, and the Seagals are still hot! The only other good thing I can think of is the seats we had were great, and I didn't have to pay for em. In general I would say that descending the W Rib would be a safer aproach to the base of the route, however you will still have to cross some monster crevases in the upper basin of the NE Fork. The only problems we had with route finding was finding a way through the rock bands above 16,000'. The gully that leads to a traverse at the top of the rock band wasn't that obvious to us, and the traverse doesn't look like it will go until it does.

Umm Fairweather, machines are built by and programed by humans who can display any number of human characteristics. Partisanship is on that list. I'm sure if you look into it there is a fair system for doing a manual recount. Even if there isn't there are going to be so many people watching the recount that it will have to be. All those lawyers all primed up for a fight over the presidential race are looking for something to do. But I suppose you republicans won't hire them since you all are so against trial lawyers.

You obviously can't read or do math Fairweather. The Dems will have to pay for every vote they recount. Now here's the tricky part where you failings in logic and math are highlighted. If and only if the results of the recount, which the dems will pay for, show that Gregoire did win the governers race will a statewide recount paid by taxpayers be triggered. Yes the democrats may choose to only pay for a recount in a couple of areas where they feel they have the best advantage, but I would expect no less from republicans. Furthermore if the paid recount does cast doubt on the results I think it's only fair for the state to pay for a complete recount. It seems to me that if Rossi really did win then you wont have to worry about any of your tax money being spent on recounts. If there's a reason to doubt his victory then it's only fair for taxpayers to fund a full recount in the name of democracy. Your notion that the democrats can, "mine out," votes is fucked up. the votes are there or they aren't. Perhaps your low self esteem leads you to this paranoid view. This is not true at all. For a hand recount the democratic party will have to pay 25 cents per vote counted. Should the results of this recount overturn the election then the state would pay for an additional recount. So there is only one recount that will definitely happen and the democrats are the only ones who will pay for it. Yes Fairweather it's you who lack an understanding of mathematics. We are talking about counting 2.8 million votes; when your canidate wins by 42 out of 2.8 million votes we are talking about an outcome that is well within the possible error. The democrats are willing to foot the bill for the recount, so it doesn't really effect you in any way. I bet if Dino lost by 42 votes the republicans would pay for a recount, and you'd be telling us it was only fair to doublecheck the results. I think you should quit whining like a little crybaby and wait for the final outcome. If you're sure of the results then there will be no problems and Dino will be governer. In the meantime find yourself a book on statistics and try and catch up...that is if you don't need to review some basic algebra first.

I predict a lot of whining from Republicans about how Christine should just concede. I also predict republicans convieniently forget how much they hate lawsuits and trial lawyers when they start taking every aspect of the election to court.
