you miss a mother-fucker w/ a blunderbuss at 5 feet, you probably deserve to die A target within 5-feet and a musket is similar to standing and pissing in a toilet bowl. The shortened distance to the toilet bowl (less than 5-feet) is offset by reduced target size.

Pretty much any tree service will have what you want. General Tree are the big kids in Portland, but there's Collier Arbor Care and a bunch of other names I can't spit out. A company like that unloads chips when the truck is full and your property is in a convenient location on the way to the next job. In most cases they'll ignore you if you ask for one yard or request an appearance on command. They are free or low cost after all Most trucks carry about 12 yards when full. All or nothing

True that - if it is not in YOUR yard. That stuff is a menace!!!! I've eradicated the majority of it from my property by cutting and pulling. My neighbor loves blackberry pies, so I have to maintain homeland security. I love the blackberries too, but it's easy to walk down the street and harvest a boatload. Despite obvious jokes, friends living outside the metro zone has a couple goats in fenced off areas on their property. Goats do good work for a cheap price. Just keep them out of areas containing plants you don't want et Matt has some good points about eradication. Cut stalks low with a brush cutter, pull major root crowns, then cover the ground with arborist chips. Studies I've read indicate the depth of chips should be 1-foot or more. Arborist chips come from tree services and are often delivered for free or low cost. If you want instant service/delivery hog fuel is a good alternative but isn't free. Do not use beauty bark or mulch. The products have their own set of problems that require a detailed explanation. If you have valuable trees or shrubs do not Volcanoe Mulch them Herbicides can provide some control, but do it the right way Broadcast spraying is the worst way.

I've seen most of the heli landing spots around the Spearhead. The slopes that drain back towards Whistler-Blackcomb seem like border land. Landings seem, "Not perfect, but OK." Are they trying to move into the McBride Range? I recall some talk about a new lodge in the valley between Wedge and Blackcomb-Spearhead Range. Helicopters- skiers, and mobilers use the mountain region north of Whistler and have done so for a long time.

[TR] Sun Valley, Idaho - Morgan ridge 12/30/2013

In the region you can make judgement on status if you ask the simple questions Full time, or part time valley resident? How far south (outside) of the center of Sun Vally Town do you live? If you live there full time and your house is a half hour or more south of Sun Valley Town you are not among the elite residents. Maybe elite isn't the correct adjective, but you can probably guess the meaning. Elites still need minimum wage helpers, or rif-raf. -
Castro is at low risk for getting caught in a regional war.

Without walking down an obvious path I'd recommend a couple day trips first Maybe you already have. Making observations on the effects of cold weather on her could help you plan or prepare for an overnight trip. There are down quilts you could bring as a backup for an existing sleeping bag. Making sure your overnight destination isn't too far from the trailhead-car can help too.

If you're always overloading your pack productivity rates decline and you run the risk of shortening your career in bud packing. Work smart not hard

The best way to read it is It might be plowed to the MP-21 gate. It will not be plowed past the gate. The road receives a lower ranking on the priority list for plow operators...

A skier and user of TAY ask me why CC had a skiing forum a couple years back. Skiing is part of mountaineering. The 10th Mountain division got their start at Paradise and learning how to ski was part of training. [video:youtube] Both sites provide information on skiing, and this TR is on TAY too. -

A huge stockpile of weapons and ammo didn't seem to do Bunker Dude much good in his standoff with the man. There are handguns and there are handguns. Folks have a right to defend themselves, and I think there's a way to accommodate that right w/o owning semi-automatic pistols with large volume magazine clips. Everybody retains handguns and rifles. The only difference is no more rapid fire weapons. Rapid fire weapons have no place in hunting, and you probably don't need them for self defense unless your favorite hobby is gang warfare.

It seems to me after 10 pages of Spray the unanimous conclusion is: Some site users hate other site users and love to express their feeling in detail on the board Not quite sure how this resolves problems where guns are an element. If I yell louder and longer than another poster does that make me right? [video:youtube]

From everything I've read the single best gun to own for self defense is a shotgun. It has an added benefit of being good for bird hunting. Hunting isn't the only reason to own a riffle or a pistol. Some folks like to own them for target shooting. Of the few times I've ever shot either the goal was hitting a distant target. Riffles and hand guns also meet some peoples needs for self defense. It seems like the focus of any legislation rule changes should be banning assault weapons and requiring background checks at gun shows. If I was hunting elk, the last thing I would want is an assault weapon since the point of hunting is harvesting meat for consumption not blowing the shit out of wildlife. In this case the shooter took his moms registered weapons. If she didn't own assault weapons it might have slowed or deterred him. Yep, no solution is perfect. Folks can modify or steal weapons, but putting in a few more backstops doesn't hurt or restrict the legitimate ownership of a gun.
