I climbed the NW Bowl on Andromeda back a long time ago, and I figured it out on my own, but I followed Dru's advice. Fortunately I had a shovel with me and that helped. You just dig a hole straight above you. There was ice under the snow so I could put in some ice screws. It tok a bit, but eventually I could crawl out onto the summit plateau and belay my partner up. It's a pretty thrilling thing to do.

Well Minx is a moderator. True. yes you will also find that alpinek, offwhite, et. al can also boss you around but... don't forget, i am god so there is no higher authority. It has been a while since I was the mean nasty mod guy, but it can be a fun activity.

Going climbing is good, but that doesn't mean it isn't good to come back from a climbing and talk shit. Most of us can't climb every day, so we need something to fill our time till the next time we can get out and do some cool climbing.

My uncle had cerebral palsy. While he was alive the only job he could hold down was to sell candy for the Spastic Club. That's what they called their group publicly. The pt dude didn't seem too worried about me climbing. He got one of his coworkers who does climb to come over and talk to me. The bottom line was pretty positive about me climbing. I need to stick to top roping for a while and slowly work up to leading. All and all pretty good

while we are talking about gyms... what about the assholes who circle the parking lot, looking for a spot close to the front door so they don't have to walk far. WTF? You're going to the gym for exercise, what is an extra 100's of feet hurt? i've noticed that phenomenon for years! then i noticed how many folks in my gym were actually tubby little bastards... They do that for bragging rights. You'll be like, "dude check out my sweet parking spot...I'd like to see you pull that move."
