It's been a long time since I was there, but there was plenty of spare chickenwire at the parking lot when I was there.

It looks cool and all, but around here you aren't going to make it very far on solar power.

Suppose you have hiked 10 miles. You are a 60 year old man and you are tired. You are wearing a pack, so you can't run. A man is running at full speed towards you screaming, "I'm going to fucking KILL YOU". His fists are raised. You have a gun in your hands. You have already shown the man that you have a gun. He's still coming, not slowing down. He says he's going to kill you. You can't believe he doesn't stop. You can't run. If he reaches you, he might kill you with your own gun. What do you do? I have a hard time believing that an unarmed man would charge somebody with a gun. I suppose if he still did charge the only conclusion you could draw is that he was armed. As far as I go I have no gun, and I never intend to buy one. I might go to a shooting range and rent one though. If I was attacked I'd try and defend myself with my hands; not that would do any good vs somebody with a gun. So far I've never been in any situation where I questioned my safety.

It seems to me if you had a gun you could pull it aim it at the dog and scream at the owner, "call your dog off." Obviously you're threatening to shoot the dog. Shooting the owner is totally wrong unless the owner has his own weapon he's threatening you with.

diet, mountaineering, and bogus rock climber?
AlpineK replied to Jens's topic in Fitness and Nutrition Forum
I find myself going through some weight problems. Before I hurt myself I wasn't in super shape, but I could climb most things I wanted to. Now I'm trying to at least get back to where I was if not in better shape. My main problem is when I was climbing trees for work diet was never anything I ever thought about. Now-a-days my pants are kind of tight and my scale weight has gone up; I have seemed to have dropped a bit of fat percent, but it's still higher than I want it. Exercise for me consists of strength training my physical therapist gave me. I have added in some pushups and sit-ups. I am getting better since I have mostly advanced from pushups from the knees to the regular kind (at least mostly). After that I go for walks. The highlight there is a set of stairs coming up from a lower street back to my neighborhood. I used to do 2 laps of this longer walk, but I got board with repeating the total distance, so now I just do several laps of stairs and only one long lap. Can anyone suggest some additional exercises I should add to all this. Obviously due to my injury I can't do anything too crazy; for example I tried a pull-ups but that's not going to happen for a while. Jen's thread got me thinking about my situation -
Last night was good, and hopefully there will be more fun in April. PS watch out for the double headed monster.

Last year I was way into burning trees, but this year it's been oil.

In my view global warming is a real problem. I agree that it doesn't look like the 50% mark is correct, but if it's only 15% to 30% it's still making an impact that will affect us. Even if you still don't buy global warming getting off oil will still be good for us. Finding a product that produces energy but doesn't require us to tank a ton of product from the middle east to us has to be good for the US.

It looks like a cool way to work with photos and other stuff

Damn I didn't see this till just now. Hey Porter I'm glad you're doing better. I'm sorry to hear you are in the hospital. I'm sure they're treating you well, but being in the hospital sucks. Hang in there buddy. I hope to see you soon, or at least read some good spray from you. you

The main thing I remember from school about Pascal is it's the main computer language I'd write programs in. Not that I ever did anything with that knoledge.

You missed the part where I agreed that it was a cool sport. I did watch it again.

Somebody already posted this, but it is cool.

Vancouver is a suburb of Portland. You might not want it, but it's part of your hood.

Post a good TR and or write a decent story and you'll get respect. Until then it's all spray bullshit. PS if you do climb Thermogenesis and write a TR you'll impress a few people/
-
Did you not read what I said in the speculation thread? You've come here asking for real sympathy but then turned the whole thing into a sprayfest. If your husband did in fact die then I do feel sorry for you. The impression I get though is you're just here to fuck around.

So you want everybody to be positive and ban negativeness by your definition.
