  1. I personally blame Al-Qaeda McCallboater.
  2. Sucks man. Good luck! -Colin
  3. Are you seriously soliciting advice about staking out a tent? Gumby indeed.
  4. Nice ones mentioned thus far. Some more- South Face of The Tooth. N face of Chair if you are technically proficient in ice climbing. NE Buttress of Chair (same caveat as before). Eldorado.

    Pretty well.
  6. I saw that and yes, I felt like puking.
  7. IMO your best option is to leave the soft-shell at home and use a poly-pro, fleece, puffy, hard-shell combination. Hey, you asked.
  8. I'm in class now but I can send a pic later. The hole is just a rip about three inches long.
  9. I have a blurr hoody, size large. Has one poke hole with duct tape. If you aren't obsessed with style it's fine. Black. I could part with it for say, 50$. This is the one- http://www.gravityfed.com/outdoorgear/outlet/Blurr-Nitrogen-Insulated-Jacket---Mens.html
  10. Kaskadskyjkozak- that is a great list to gain some chops in the cascades. Granted-most of those are long, but doable, days.
  11. Ya Rad gives good advice. Learn to be efficient, and be realistic about your abilities.
  12. Just to remind you old timers, I am only 25 and I learned on passive gear, at Index no less. So it isn't an altogether lost art. Sadly, no swami belts or lycra were to be found. We still respect the oldin days. Proceed.
  13. 1. We approached as you would for the North Face, but just kept going. 2. The rock was solid as it looked, until it wasn't. In other words there were definitely solid portions, but you had to test each hold because there was an equal amount of choss. 3. Yes, Martin Volkin (sp?) I believe put this route up. Although I think we took a variation that very well could have been a FA, but who knows. 4. 5.7, grade 3. 5. We talked about the potential for a winter route. It would be fun for sure. I would do it. Cheers.
  14. How about a video? [video:youtube] Overall, some loose rock but worth the trip. Definitely an adventure climb.
  15. He just did define it..."breaking through snow, heavy packs, plastic boots...". If you really want to suffer climb Si with loads on your back. If not, ease into it with opportunistic climbs and skis. Myself, I just climbed the West Ridge of Chair Peak.
  16. Just a suggestion, but www.steepandcheap.com has a lot of that kind of stuff offered periodically. Just check out the site often (like every 20 minutes). A new item is offered at that time interval. They often offer things you don't want, but I see baselayer and other outdoor softgoods on there.
  17. Skiing for sure. Climbing when the weather is nice (or not so nice). Ice trips. Gym if you must. The winter here is not thattttt bad if you do the aforementioned. But then again I've lived here my whole life so I don't notice it.
  18. wow I can't believe you did that! Now someone should go down there and bolt some more mixed climbs (even though bolting is inherently bad and evil).
