Really? Have you read much of the drivel around here? The anecdote I posted was not intended to support the theory that every road is going to be monitored. I was merely illustrating that there IS monitoring happening in SOME areas. I agree that the chances of blanket monitoring of the roads is HIGHLY unlikely. As far as the post regarding drones I know folks who actually believe that is happening right now. Now that is funny.

As far as third hand info goes - the guys been my buddy for fifteen years. Is a 100% full on law abiding citizen. Is the worst bullshitter I have ever met and seldom has the complexity of character to fabricate such a story. I was actually able to read the summons that he recieved. So now these alleged cameras can also positively identify whatever you are smoking, and then somehow find out who you are, and then send the DEA to your house to arrest you for simple misdemeanor posession? WOW, NEFARIOUS!!! YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL OUT THERE NOW!!! Of course, they're watching you in your house, too, so you're screwed. That's why I only smoke with the covers pulled up over my head. I'm just saying for me personally, that next time one of buddies wants to spark one up I may reconsider partaking if I am going to be on camera. I am thinking that turning a simple possible false trespassing charge into a posession charge or something for the occasional time you choose to partake suddenly make the risk outweigh the benefit. That is just me though and I am a relatively paranoid fellow about some things.

His truck was parked outside the gate and I am sure that is how he was tracked down. The area does have some history of trouble and we all work hard to bring a positive presence and follow all the rules. We are fullu aware that the parking lot is patrolled and are okay with that, but when you get a summons and have to appear it IS freaky, especially if you consider that there have been known safety breaks taken along said trail. Makes one think twice about what they choose to participate in in the woods. He was accused of trespassing in a restricted watershed. Which is off the right of way and he never left the right of way.

Evidence? Links? A buddy of mine recently got a summons to appear in court regarding a trespassing charge pertaining to activity near the Lake Champlain (sp) water shed near Granite Falls. He talked to the prosecuting attorneys office and went in for a visit disputing the charge. They showed him a photo of he and his dog walking down the road near the water shed. The case was dropped as the road is within public access rights. The moral of the story - there are cameras out there.
