  1. Or in some people's case, a tatoo sure as hell isn't going to improve the figure you got!
  2. In the long-run, that was probably the cheapier and easier solution.
  3. Reminds me of that South Park episode where Cartman formed a Christian Rock group and took a top 40 love song and just replaced the object of affection in the song with the word "Jesus," and had a huge Christian rock hit.
  4. Nice work on the urban hike!
  5. Sounds to me like she had a legitimate concern for her husband's well-being and reached out here in a reasonable and sincere manner. I'm sure that having nobody waiting back at home grants you and Choada a certain degree of "freedom", but it doesn't give you license to shit all over Cathi's post. Well it definitely gives me enough freedom to tell you to go fuck yourself.
  6. Maybe we should have a whole new forum for overly-excitable spouses to feak out on when their gaper husbands show up a few hours late from a climb.
  7. Don't you have to work on technique too? or is that not cool anymore.
  8. Apparently the indians had a lot more soldiers until we gave them our first gift, smallpox.
  9. One other piece of advice: try to work out every day, even if for only 30 or 40 minutes, or at least five or six days a week so it becomes a habit and your body gets used to it. I also don't see any point in starving yourself or anything. You should try to eat healthy but if your working out a lot you probably need a fair amount of calories and you should make this an experience that you enjoy not that sucks balls.
  10. My exercise advice is to find out what John Frieh would do, then do the opposite. Seriously though, beer tastes better after you work out and even better after a long day in the mountains. So there's some motivation. Good luck!

    Yep...

Its funny when people complain about the prospect of government involvement in health care, when there have been so many shining start of excellence in the private sector recently, with AIG, WaMu, Enron, etc. But I'm sure the right wing ideologues among us, like KKK, will probably blame these failures on libtard policies and such, no doubt.
  12. That is correct, if by "foisted on our politics" you mean women having the adacity to challenge anti-abortion laws.
  13. Yeah, religious folks love to keep to themselves. Especially when advocating for state interferance into women's reproductive rights and bans on stem-cell research. Then they complain about a bigger and overbearing government.
  14. Its unfortunate that republicans have assimilated the christian conservative movement. I think it turns a lot of people off who might otherwise agree with some other tenants of the party's views, like fiscal conservativism - which they haven't exactly been proponents of either, especially under the Bush Admin.
  15. I've repeated one of his routes there and wouldn't exactly say it was put up in fine style, but I guess that's a matter of opinion.
  16. EB's and a Speedo. Nice. It's as if I'm looking at myself in 20 years.
  17. This is like the whacko nutjob draft. We'll take David Koresh, you take Kaszinski.

    Yep...

I'd probably ride the train if it went anywhere good, like Index, in a reasonable amount if time. Especially if they had a bar cart.
  19. Nice! I am looking forward to reading the articles.
  20. I work in the medical school myself and also happened to sustain a few major fall injuries (not climbing related though) a few years back, so here is my two cents. Although I do have a group health insurance through my employer, the co-pay is still an out of pocket expense that does add up in the long run. If this Assurent do not lie to you and would indeed cover your climbing injuries for 40$ a month (on top of the regular premium, right?), you got yourself a deal! Yes, 10K is not enough for serious injuries like neck or spinal injuries (these would run 50K each) but the probability of getting them in rock climbing is rather slim as opposed to more frequently fractured ankles, wrists etc. or torn ligaments/tendons. So think about that. On the positive note, the 10K would cover the usual suspect injuries (including metalwork!) if you make right decisions on how and where to get medical help. 1. Try to avoid the ER visits and ambulance calls as much as you can. These two are the major money suckers which is getting worse and worse every day. Go straight to either Orthopedics (bones) or Trauma (soft tissue damage and ligaments/tendons) department with an X-ray facility on site and without an appointment (or get somebody on call, if out of hours, preferably not a resident) and insist they deal with you right away. REMEMBER: you have this right and they cannot turn you away. 2. You have right to choose the type of anaesthesia (another significant chunk on the medical bill). The prep IV is an absolute waste, for instance. 3. Rehab PT: two sessions max. Just learn the exercises and do it yourself. You do not need someone with a whip to tell you what to do three times a week for a few months. 4. Ask Assurent if they work with preferred and non-preferred providers. If they do, it might save you some money too. I hope this helps. PM me if you have more questions. NIL DESPERANDUM! But what do I do if I get a tension pneumo from getting high and biking into a pack of coyotes?
  21. Fame! I'm gunna live forever. I'm gunna learn how to fly!
  22. Don't make me get my samurai sword out.
  23. No. I biked to school. If our kids are on public school buses they should be guaranteed to be safe. Then we'd have to get the guvment involved. And God knows, only commie libtards would want that.
  24. Might have something to do with the fact that in this country white folks used to buy and sell black folks, not vice-versa. But that's just a guess.
