  2. I'm sure Beacon misses you dude.
  3. Way to go for it! If ya aint' going for it, you ain't going for it. If ya get in way over your head, well...thats what the good lord made adjustable daisys for. Kudos for getting out and getting on it, rocking!
  4. video of Scott on Physic Wound
  5. Kudos! Doubly happy is the man to whom lofty mountain tops are within reach. John Muir.
  6. Great thread Ivan! Good on ya and kyle for getting Steppenwulf done. I've admired it many times from Big Ledge but looks to thin and desperate to try free. Aid climbing it sounds like the Way!
  7. Heres a cool video put togather by my friend Bob of some of our exploits of TIC(Team Issaquah Climbers bike team), which is a group of us that grew up togather in Issaquah and learned to climb togather and are still doing it 30 years later. Crank it up!!
  8. Thanks Ivan. It has to be a little more out of the wind then where we were. We will see what the weather allows here the next couple weeks, yeah!
  9. No, didn't spend the night. Just broke the ledge down and rapped in the dark. Will have to get on Bears next summer, ouch that hurts to say that. Less then 3 weeks left of the season. I might have to take your advice and get on Steppenwulf Ivan. Is it 1 pitch or 2 off of Big Ledge? Anchors good?
  10. Plaid nears the sketchy section. That Bears in Heat crack to the left looks stellar, but looks like down low it would be tough to protect ckean. Anyone done it, freed it?
  11. The ledge did not like the winds. It was like riding a bucking bronco at times but it made the belay stint much more relaxing and chill. I even had my foam pad and sleeping bag in the haul bag in case I had to warm up but never came to that. Those heat packets for the hands did the trick. The only REAL excitement was in the darkness when Plaid stripped a few pieces and yanked me and the ledge out of the Dutchman corner and into the Physic corner. I couldn't figure out where I was until I got my headlamp on and found I was out of the ledge just hanging there. tons of fun.
  12. All along the Watchtower "There must be some kind of way out of here" Said the joker to the thief "There's too much confusion I can't get no relief Businessmen they drink my wine Plowmen dig my earth None of them along the line Know what any of it is worth" "No reason to get excited" The thief, he kindly spoke "There are many here among us Who feel that life is but a joke But you and I, we've been through that And this is not our fate So let us not talk falsely now The hour is getting late" All along the watchtower Princes kept the view While all the women came and went Barefoot servants, too But outside in the cold distance A wildcat did growl Two riders were approaching And the wind began to howl by Bob Dylan
  13. Somewhere behind my head in that photo is where that piece of rock fell off when i got on the semi detached block. That was wierd when that fell off above my head and I wasn't even touching it, just hanging on the block.
  14. Ivan gettin it done today. Ben Jim showed up Kyle Good day!
  15. A guy just posted over at Supertopo that Widows Tears is in full and fat fue to record rainfall and now cold temps, its as frozen as hes seen it. Just in case anyone had some free time and the inclination...
  16. I just read a article written by Dane under the link "Blog" at the top of the page. It was about umblicials on ice tools and really informative. Thank you Dane, super info.
  17. heres a few photos from the oh so short freeze last year
  18. Don't forget about the hidden and elusive Tolketie Wall.
  19. #6 or #8? Griswold or Wagner?
  20. I don't get why you have to be so doubtfull of my post. Just because you don't know every climber in the Portland area does not mean I am lying about my climbs. Or is it that I have to earn my rank on this site? No wonder it took me seven years to finally register as alot of the people on this site come of off as total ass holes. Cheers Todd Thanks for the praise Dave and Bill. i was always a fan of thomas in the new testament - come out to beacon saturday and have a beer w/ us! Take Ivan up on the beer offer! classic postclimb brewsky session hunkered down against the wind regaled with tales of wild walls and faraway splitters. No ones really a ahole on this site(except me), its all just in fun jousting.
  21. Mill bastards!
  22. It looks like you are climbing at the abandoned gravel pit. Plaid, I can see now why you are attracted to 30 foot splitters.
  23. Thats what she said....
