  2. Ok, thank you Jon. It is working now, you must have fixed it.
  3. I can't post any photos to the website like I normally do. It says the file is to big. Wierd.
  4. They are trying to rescue a climber on Liberty Ridge at the moment who has been up there since Friday. he is hypothermic and in trouble. Rainier is a big bad hill!
  5. Yes, Joseph makes a joke!!! Excellent! It was even funny. But you need to drop the Drop Zone, thats past history.
  6. Is this really a locked thread? as looks like i can post on it....
  7. Its just a little crag in the woods. Nothing to get the panties in a uproar about. oh, and I highly reccommend that you wear a helmet out there Joseph!!
  8. Dave, I don't think you need any help getting up the corner, what you talking bout Holmes! So maybe what Joseph is trying to say in his typically incoherent fashion is that a designated top of the crag trail and multiple sling anchors with rap rings and such need to be installed at the FARSIDE, so that everyone can enjoy a good top rope without endangering the lower trail hikers and top rope belayers? I think Tim Olsen should have to do it.
  9. That was kind of my take on it. Haven't heard the near death story though, so my thought is maybe somebody came rapping thru the trees and almost beaned Joseph with a pine cone. He hates pine cones.
  10. Dave, you the man! Haven't seen you in a long time, are you ready to rock Beacon when it opens? How goes it mon?
  11. What happened at the Farside that made it such a allegedly dangerous place?
  12. that was Josephs response to a post I made on the Taco, so I thought it was appropriate here as well.
  13. Joseph, your cap Locks is on.
  14. yeah dude, Stone Soup got some press, wow! Lots of cool new routes in that book.
  15. None of us are free anymore Bill. Freedom died with George Bush and Martin Luther King, the Kennedys, and Lynrd Skynyrd.......
  16. My friend Bob and I bought a bunch of his gear from him when he said he was quitting climbing and that's what he told us, maybe he was kidding. We were a little mystified.
  17. Camp Nano biners rule!
  18. Crazy! How many climbers are stranded??? 2 large mudslides and a stream has diverted and is running across the road as well. Kind of unusual for June! http://www.komonews.com/news/local/123662984.html
  19. Holy mother of George Walker, those spikes look like they are old enough to be made by Chouinard. and I agree with you Ivan, lots of scary enormous blocks on that side that don't look like they will be in residence long, kind of freaks me out overthere. Plus all the poison oak is a real plus.
  20. actually his name was Quinn Coning. He quit climbing after taking a seriously huge fall ice climbing and walking away from it, I can't remember what peak, does anyone else remember? Sold all his gear and became a white supremist as I recall, back in 1978 or so. Quite a character.
  21. Not a good time to be climbing Hood unless you are into Russian Roulette (sorry Mito, couldn't resist). the chunk of ice was 20 feet by 40 feet, holy snikes!! http://www.kxl.com/Climber-Caught-In-Avalanche-On-Mt--Hood-Awaits-Res/10075294
  22. Kick rocks as you are hiking and use a hiking stick that you pound on the ground as you go. It lets them know you are coming, and then they aren't surprised when you step over the top of them. Ive walked over and past many a rattler in this way, its when you surprise them that they will surprise you!
