I hope you like to suffer! ice climbing is kinda a masacistic desire. You're cold all the time, get the screamin barfies, get hurt if you fall (just found that out yesterday), get hit by falling ice, and did I mention you get cold. Just be careful when you're learning, it is totally different from rock.

For Hyalite, as of this last weekend Twin falls was out along with G2 and everything else. However, it has been colder here and we might have some stuff formed up by the end of next week. I did twin in really thin and wet conditions two sundays ago and was totally stoked, but now im waiting again. We watched cleo's completely collapse in front of us as soon as we finished rapping down twin (scary).

I have read extreme alpinism, its great. Is the Gadd book you speak of Ice and mixed climbing? It sounds like I should check out the Horst and RWW books because I can onsight tens and redpoint some elevens on trad and would love to break into twelves. Thank you for all your info!

Which ones are worth while. I've always been taking random training advice from random climbers. I am pretty sick of trying to piece stuff together and form my own exercises and cycles. I am not looking for general cardio training, but actual rock/ice training advice. I know there are several out there ie. (falcon guide and mountaineers), but want to know which most people prefer. Any info would be appreciated.

Well I graduated trad school in Index and now im gonna graduate from MSU this year with a bachelors in Ripping Pow and a minor in ice climbing. I think I might go to grad school in AK!!!

I like carharts on cool days and they rock for aiding. I have fell in love with some lightweight stretchy OR pants for free climbing in all temps.
