  1. Hello climbers. I turned to these message boards two years ago while researching a story idea and I found a lot of help. I'm hoping for the same this time around. My name is Lincoln Graves. I'm an anchor/reporter for KATU News in Portland. I'm working on a story for the 35th anniversary of the Mt. St. Helens eruption. Here's what I'm looking for: anyone who happened to be on the summit of another nearby mountain (Rainier, Hood, Adams) on THE DAY of the eruption in 1980. I know that's a tall order, but I've met at least one person who was on Hood that day. Anyone know of any others? I'd love to talk to them for a story. My email is Lgraves@katu.com Thanks, Lincoln
  2. My name is Lincoln Graves. I'm a reporter for KATU News, Channel 2 in Portland. I'm working on a story for the upcoming anniversary of the Mt. St. Helens eruption. My story focuses on how the mountain was physically changed by the eruption. I'd like to tell that story through the eyes of someone who climbed the mountain before its eruption, and, ideally, climbed it afterwards as well. Please email me at Lgraves@katu.com or call at 503-318-9519 if you can help. Thanks, Lincoln
  3. Just wondering if anyone's been up St. Helens in the past few days. I know the NWAC issued a special statement on avalanches throughout the Cascades. But they're not too specific on how bad the danger is. I'm looking to go up Sunday and wanted to get an idea of what other climbers are seeing.
